It would be nice for you to get your hands on the von schweikert ultra seven or ultra 9 loudspeakers either of these two speakers I think would be great competition for your xvx I've had a chance to do a deep dive into the ultra seven I am sure von schweikert would be glad to send you a pair of the sevens or the nines to demo in your lab I think you would enjoy either as much or more than your xvx and they are less expensive I love your channel and all your content you do a great job
My question is: with he tweeter height being so high, does the soundstage come across, well, high? I think it ridiculous that the XVX has such low impedance. Design, or use, drivers that have a higher impedance. Looks like they use Scan speaker drivers in the upper array. I love those. Detail with body and musical.
I totally get what you are saying but "broken" is really the wrong word. But I felt exactly the same way when I swapped out my Watt/Puppy 6's for a pair of Alexia 2's. The differences were so glaring and obvious that it really did make the W/P 6 feel broken, 10 seconds of a song was all you needed to hear it. And I'm sure the gap between my Alexia 2's and the XVX is at least that big. It really shows how flawed all transducers are and that it's really a matter of picking the flaws that you are willing to (or have to) live with (in some cases those flaws aren't aural, cost and size being two of the XVX's flaws).
That’s what companies do, make the next best thing for you to spend your money on, they get richer while you get poorer… there has to be a time you say no more… and it’s not when your six feet under..
