Without spoiling too much - let's just say what you all see here is by no means an exhaustive list of all the possible combinations 😉

Looks like it should be extremely easy to make prototypical versions of whatever line you want to replicate and equally easy to create a firm custom identity for a fictional line.

Something I noticed also in the whistle video is just how good the exhaust looks. I've been around real steam and you nailed it

I'm interested to see how many of these changes are just cosmetic and how many actually affect performance. Would be cool to see a nice balance between the two.

So I see different options for stack, domes, whistle, cab roof, cab windows, tender, fuel type, running boards, plow, headlight, pistons, the front of the smokebox, and air brakes. That's almost everything!

Ok so, idk if this question was addressed in like a live stream or not. But in C of S, will there be options to rebuild your engine/locomotive to change the specification of your loco? So for example, if i bought the Class 70 with a step board cow catcher at 5 seconds in this video, But I want to change it now so it has a different color scheme and I want it to have a D.S.P. & P.R.R. cow catcher. By chance will there be such thing? Or will it be the same as R-O where we have to buy a completely new engine to change the customization?

You've teased some love for the MLW C-14 already, so I hope in the future we might see the GE GEX3341 or even the GMD NF210!

That plow is the equivalent of a new lifted shortbed truck. Compensating for anything? I'm loving the detail - including the swaying grass. My computer will cry, but I hope grass gets blown around by the steam from cylinder cocks when they're open. Is it just me, or is the track a little too narrowgauge for the wheels?

Another interesting tidbit to notices it looks like there might be an active weather simulation with changing wind directions? Just from having a very acute case of ADHD and watching the smoke from the stacks through each of the changing variations.

But I happened to notice in this video that I think either some or all of them that the front idler wheel and the drivers seemed to be a bit bigger than the tracks that are supposedly supposed to be Narrow Gauge for both locomotive and track. Just figured I'd let you guys know because I just noticed it

Just WOW. So many options, so I'll spend 15 minutes every time I buy a new locomotive, but that's so cool. I can create whatever locomotive I want with different cowcatchers, stacks and lights. Also, will the snowplough be removable or is it permanently attached to a locomotive?

Are we gonna be able to do more than that? For example oil burning with both front and rear electric headlights?

My Gods, how much longer does it take before we can call Century of Steam for the rail fans sweet spot combination of a wet dream and a fever fantasy becoming reality? Is this on the way to become the Baldurs Gate 3 of steam locomotive simulator? Studio 346 must be filled by a collection of magicians and wizards with unbridled passion for steam history, because this together with the whistle video I'm already struggling to find the superlatives!

Does the weight of the locomotive vary with the accessories? Would that very large plow reduce maximum tractive effort?

Now it may just be the nerd in me but the smoke appeared to be affected by wind...as apposed to a static animation...did my eye deceive me or is there simulated wind? and if so will there be weather patterns?

I still haven't had my one question answered about whether the game is going to be level-based or if it's going to be like a free sandbox type thing like railroads online was designed to be. because with customization options like this I think that it should really be like a sandbox type thing because like what's the use of having customization options like this if it's level-based but again it's ultimately your decision but that decision is going to decide whether or not I get the game so I really need to know so as soon as you guys see this comment I would really appreciate if you answered the question.

I did notice there's no options for a black smokebox or stack. are those not prototypical? i'm not too familiar with American narrow gauge so I wouldn't know.

Lets see if the D&RG No.13 Mosca be in the game, as it was the only steamer that never were in service on the D&RG because she was overweight and then East Broad Top purchased the locomotive from Baldwin as No.3 Rockhill.
