There are only 31,000 people in the shelters which can hold 200,000. There is still room for many and there is still time to evacuate safely. Some take pets too.

Between traffic and gas shortages, how are people supposed to get to those locations? You see countless videos of traffic jams of people trying to leave, but where are they gonna now and how can they get there safely? I’ve seen polls online with people asked if they’re evacuating to sheltering, and the majority of residents are staying. They all think this won’t be as bad as forecasted, I think they’re gonna be wrong. But let’s hope for the best for everyone

I’ve never lived in FL until now. I was sitting around watching the news, I think someone thought I was procrastinating. I’ve not been through a hurricane before. I don’t really know what to expect, so I’m sticking with what I know. And I know if I stay as safe as possible especially as I am now, chances of mitigating additional problems is higher. Fun Fact. Food service doesn’t want to hire those who don’t shower.

I have lived through a few hurricanes. In the worst affected areas, houses get destroyed, cars are destroyed. There is no electricity, no gasoline; no ice, food runs low and the water system becomes contaminated. This can go on for many days. Food in fridge and freezers goes bad. You can’t go anywhere because trees block the roads. It is not good. It takes weeks to get to livable conditions and years of fighting insurance companies, then contractors to get everything rebuilt, then it happens all over again.

I suppose people prayed to God when it rained for 40 days and 40 nights, although God created that devastation to do away with humanity at the time. Noah, his wife and two each of every animal was spared to start anew. But go ahead and pray if it makes you feel better.
