Find me a US citizen without some form of State ID. My take away is no NY driver has or needs ID of any sorts to obtain a State Driver's license. No US Citizen needs ID nor a birth certificate to obtain any State or Government assistance? I personally did not vote for Gov Hochel as she was then Deputy Governor under Governor Cuomo. The same Governor who sent covid positive ppl to their nursing homes. If we need ID to get anything from Government assistance to a US Passport or join the military or purchase alcohol. How is that voter suppression? Without a basic US Birth certificate or Social security card number How does one apply for a State ID or State Drivers license? I currently need my Social security card to renew my Enhanced Drivers license how is this Voter Suppression? You can't get a US Passport without a lot of State ID including your US Birth certificate.. If your allowed to vote in an election without State or Federal ID theres something wrong. Many of you reading my comment are Tax payers and many know you need some form of State or Government ID to gain employment even our minors getting their first job need a State issued Birth certificate or working papers. Why is asking for ID when one votes considered Voter Suppression? You fall on hardtimes you can't pay your utility bills you go for State assistance do you think your going to ask without proper documentation proving where you live who you are including bank records? No your going to need multiple forms of ID! Why should asking for ID in a federal election be an issue? Thinking about it I've never been asked for ID when voting in New York but I always hand over my ID when I'm voting and they ask you your name upon entering a voting location. How does anyone living in this once great country Not have State ID? Unless you are under age? I'm currently an independent voter on my way to unaffiliated voter. Yes i voted for Bill and Obama who both took our boarder seriously just re watch Bills state of the union address and O built most of the cages and on the other side Donald was building the wall. Not till Joe was everything dismantled. As taxpayers we are all going to be hit heavy in our wallets / purses this next tax year and additional tax years for whats happening at the southern front door. New York State taxpayers can expect about 500 + in new taxes from 2024 going forward unless your on unemployment but expect to get hit with increased taxes when you return to work. So you want to purchase your first 6 pack at a local store do you think its voter suppression to ask for ID to make your first alcohol purchase when you turn 21 in New York? Its Not! Try to either donate an old vehicle or give it to a scrap yard the person at the scrap yard is going to ask for your State ID and a vehicle Title with your name on it.. Is that voter suppression? No its Not! The rep at the scrap yard is making sure you legitimately own the vehicle. Without a form of State ID the scrap yard won't take your vehicle! Say you want to open a marijuana selling store you're going to need State ID !
