From reading the comments here, I'm shocked to learn that this song is not the finished product. If it sounds this good as it is now, I'd be blown away if it received the full Abba treatment.
ABBA should release this song on their new album that will hopefully see the light of the day this year -THE WORLD NEEDS IT TO START THE HEALING PROCESS.
This is the first version I heard of JLT. (my favourite ABBA song). Until the ABBA demos came out I could only imagine what an ABBA version would sound like. Bjorn Again did a great job of capturing the "idea" of ABBA. Plus, I think the change to "walked into my life" from "walked into my flat" was smart. It sounds better and that's what I always sing even when listening to the Na Na Na demo version. Lol
THE MORE I listen to them, the better I like them--- if they ever come to EDNONTON, ALTA I would travel down to see them--- HELL YES, I'D be dancing in my seat-- this city was the first stop for ABBA on their NORTH AMERICAN TOUR back in sept.. '79---
ABBA would have done very well to have included this in their Voyage performance. It would have been a major surprise for the long standing fans who have wanted to see the finished product from ABBA for decades.
You can find many impersonators who can sound quite close to Elvis, MJ, Freddy Mercury, Tom Jones tec...but when it comes to ABBA...there is not even 1 Tribute ABBA Band that can sound anywhere close to ABBA. That's how unique Both Agnetha's and Frida's voices are! If you can find anyone who sounds very close to either Agnetha or Frida...pelase share the youtube link here. I bet none of you can!
Great Job! Thanks for sharing. I do however like the more upbeat sax version, but they are two different identities for this song. I for one love ABBA since I was a kid until their end in the 80's. I was so excited to hear about their reunion. I was hoping they would do a final cut of this song. I know that Benny/Bjourn have their own reasons for not wanting release it. But, I think a large majority of fans would agree that instead of releasing "Just A Notion", they would choose this one instead knowing over the years that most of us always wanted it and favored it. Regardless, I'm just thrilled to have them back one more time around like the old says. ABBA 4EVER!
To the negative commenters on here.... Yes we all want ABBA to release this. But it's not going to happen. This is as close to an ABBA version as we're going to get. Be thankful we can hear it like this instead of bad quality ABBA demo versions.

It was originally written for ABBA, who recorded several different demos with Agnetha Fältskog as soloist in the verses in 1982. History Newspaper journalists visited ABBA in the Polar studio in 1982 and two titles of new recordings were mentioned in the article written: Just Like That and I am the City. As the songs were not included on the group's subsequent anniversary album The Singles - The First Ten Years in the same year, the two titles after the newspaper article have still been known to fans. Just Like That has been given an almost mythical role among fans and many hope that the song will be released in its entirety. I am the City was included in its entirety on the album More ABBA Gold - More ABBA Hits in 1993, while Just Like That is still only officially released today as a 1:30 minute clip in the medley ABBA Undeleted, which was included on the CD box set ABBA - Thank You For The Music. However, there are illegal releases of the entire recording on CD and the internet. The versions that were released illegally are three in number. The first version is a demo which is usually called the "slow version". A guitar riff from the melody was then used for Under Attack. The second version is largely the same, except that Fältskog sings "na na na"/"la la la" over the instrumental parts. The third version is the final mix with a higher tempo and saxophone solo by Raphael Ravenscroft. It is from this version that a clip was included in the medley ABBA Undeleted. After ABBA In 1985, Andersson and Ulvaeus rearranged the song and gave it to the group Gemini, who released it as a single and on their first studio album, Gemini 1985. Parts of the melody were also used in Andersson and Ulvaeus' musical Chess; in the English set, a demo titled When the Waves Roll Out to Sea was played, but it was not included in the final set. In the Swedish set from 2002, the melody was included in the set under the title Glöm mig om du kan and was then sung by Per Myrberg.
When will people stop knocking bands like this and support them for keeping the music alive and introducing it to a new generation. The whole point of tribute bands is not to replace the originals (as some here seem to think), rather than to evoke memories of the original band. If people want to sing along and enjoy the music why spoil it with snide comments. For what it’s worth Bjorn Again have been performing longer than ABBA and the Bootleg Beatles longer than The Beatles. They are both very professional and there are moments when you could believe it might be the original band. Moments can be very precious! Of course they’re not as good as the originals so why state the blindingly obvious ffs!!
It's so shame that this song remained shelved. It's great melody, just the voices would have more expression in it. But otherwise it's the ABBA as we know them :)
TheMarigold31 I remember when they came to Edmonton. I so wanted to see them but my Mom wasn't able to get tix as they sold out so quickly. But I did see a group performing some songs. It wasn't ABBA but it was very entertaining. :)
They didn't sound like ABBA at all. I saw Bjorn Again twice in concert, and while they looked like them from a distance, the girls sounded nothing like them.
Agnes Albert This song was never release as an ABBA Song until a few year later in the musical Gemini ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OGpVMcLXIkY.html
‚Bjorn again‘ (ABBA cover band) did this version based on the ABBA version. There are bootleg recordings of ABBA‘s version on YT and an excerpt on the „Undeleted“ track on a 1994 compilation boxset.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!! There is something seriously wrong !!!!! Where's the feeling in her voice ???? She's just singing the words....
I love this song - but the lyrics needed tweaking. They're a bit stilted. I'm not sure if predestinated is actually a word, and we don't say "he did embarrass me", we say, "he embarrassed me". In verse 2, congratulations B&B for rhyming stone and known, but it's a bit of a damp squib ending to a verse. I like this version of Just Like That though. Gemini completely massacred it by recording it much too slowly, robbing the song of the cheeky sex appeal of the chorus - they made it sound like they were singing about the divorce papers. Dreadful!1 To Rohen who said, "no one can sing like Agnetha," - I wish someone had told HER that in the mid 80's! The same woman who sang The Winner Takes It All allowed her voice to be manipulated to shreds by fashionable 80's production techniques that just completely make the songs sound dated. Frida's 80's albums work better I think. Having said that, Ag's last 2 albums were a return to form.
BENNY is a lier when said this song VERSE is the reason why this song not have been released .BJORN is the verse composer and he can do it with 1 hand ,1 lung ,1 ear ,etc .Please do it BJORN.
Не говорите. На что превратили эту чудесную песню? Кто за чудовище поет? Вопрос почему они 1982году не завершили этот шедевр в исполнении Агнеты-богинии. Эх пропала песенка. Уже поздно. Плакать хочется...
Its really not a good song I know everybody says 'omg my favorite song, they must release it' But its just the dust of a dream that you wishes to be true. If they would release this song, nobody takes them serious and they are old stars from past and now just a seniorenband.
OK i'm confused-- who are these girls and are they actually singing this song or just lip-synching (sp) ABBA-- because it sounds pretty damm good.... HELP
True this is not Agnetha and Frida. This group is called Bjorn Again, not Gemini. Gemini was the brother/sister act of Anders and Karin Glenmark. Gemini recorded the official released version that Benny and Bjorn wanted released. The ABBA version that Bjorn Again sings here was never officially released by ABBA and the song had been reworked and used with Gemini.
