In Ghana, when the road is black, IT IS DONE!! No one can convince me that Ghana has a high class road not even the capital cities. You’re always in panic when thriving on the Accra-Kumasi road. I don’t even feel like dozing off when using that stretch 😢 It’s sad though 😢
Magreheb, get your Agents to investigate and find out which contractor did that dangerous work so we can all put pressure on Ghana Police to effect his arrest. This is what we all need to do all the time to fish out the bad crooks who are damaging the country.
The GPRTU should take on this responsibility and provide oversight for road projects. They are the most organized group in the country with the largest stake in road quality.
The roads in my constituency have been UNDER CONSTRUCTION for YEARS (contract awarded in 2018) yet less than 50% complete (based on my assessment). I was told yesterday that they'll complete EVERYTHING by December. 3ny3 nwanwa??? I bet they'll just do a COSMETIC DRESSING 😂.

This might be deeper than you think. I don't support the contractor's work. However, perhaps, only 10 % of the money was given to the contractor instead of at least 80%. Therefore, "Garbage in, garbage out".

Fyi: this is why. When raods are put up for bids a politician will bid example 9mil for it then will subcontract it to a second party for 6mil then that contractor will also subcontract it to an actual road contractor for 4 or 3mil so now a road that was actually bidded for 9mil is actually done for 3mil so the quality will be poor. And the worse is the 3mil sef will not even be paid to the actual contractor on time to actually finish that's why they start and stop and wait for months to do it again
Francis, at times, it's not the road contractors' fault for the delays and inefficiencies. Before the funds are released for construction, a significant portion (more than half) is already allocated through questionable procurement deals. The government often inflates project costs to justify their cut, and the MP, who has no business in road construction affairs, takes a share before passing it to a middleman, who also takes a cut. Even the contractor must pay for the bidding process or offer incentives, making it far from a free and fair bidding process. This entire process is plagued by corruption. No wonder our roads are subpar.
Why shoukd the gov't build everything in the country. There are so many theories we learn but its not been applied. Its sad. Can't all this be in the hands of private companies wspecially the banks can be tasked to do this and they can build their toll booths to collect their revenue for a number of years and we will see the kind of roads these institution will construct. In the UK their biggest airport is not for the country but its was been build by a foreign company and they are operating it. A Nigerian is having the largest stake in Gatwick airport. The government should involve the private sector, and the country can improve.

The GPRTU should make itself the overseer of Ghana roads, because for all kinds of reasons, the gov't lacks the ability to supervise contractors. The GPRTU is the most organized group with the largest stake in road quality. The GPRTU should insert itself into road construction by hiring civil engineers and having them oversee contractors who are working on road projects. They should also empower their member drivers to report potholes into a centralized database, and then pressure the gov't to fix them. Without that kind of pressure, we will never have accountability and proper execution of these contracts.
In Kenya maintainance is done everyday,they don't wait for it to start killing road users. The Contractor needs to be asked the type of road and purpose because that is not a road for the use of cars.
We live them in the hands of the Gods of our Land ,they will never enjoy those Money 🤑 in Peace ,,Go and see Roads in Ivory coast villages the quality are even better than the roads we have in Accra Sad,, 🐒🤣🤣🤣 ,,

Magraheb, this road leads to my university's permanent site campus, Sokode. (University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho) The road was constructed overnight prior to Nana Addo's visit to the school to commission the new SONAM Complex Campus built by the Chinese Government. This video was taken just almost a week after the road was constructed. So bad
