Here's the blog with directions for this project AND supplies for other size projects, including full quilts: www.sewthedistance.com/blog/one-charm-pack-table-runner
Thank you. I did listen to your tuorial a cpl x's thru but I had my supervisor helping and lost all concentration. Happily, I was able to fuse them back together. Again, accuracy largley depends on how much help you get. And, now to your blog :)
I love this project! And thank you for the lesson in sorting fabrics into lights, mediums and darks using a black and white photo. I learned something new!!
You are so welcome! Welcome to quilting! It is a wonderful hobby. The community is great, too! 🥰 Yes! This one is so forgiving! So happy it is helpful!
I was looking for a Christmas table runner pattern ... thanks for the suggestion! I won 3 Christmas fat quarters from my local quilt shop. With a little more fabric from my stash, this would work beautifully 😊
What an absolutely fun project..wow ..a chance to use a box of orphan 5 patches..thanks so much..oh and you’re also sew fun..and yes l will make a full quilt..lots of fabric to use..🇨🇦
Aww! Thank you! You are so sweet! I love this idea! I am still not sure what I am doing, but I like the idea of a smaller project mostly because I have so many quilt tops to finished. 😁 That said, I love the fabrics! Maybe a charity quilt. Hmmmm.
I think a brown thread would also be good. The brown fabric stands out to me. I am looking forward to your Christmas MSQC advent calendar unboxing. It was fun to watch last yr. I don't get their box , but enjoy watching and seeing the projects you make.
Hello Kris, that was a wonderful demo. I like all the hints, and your cheerful personality! So many ideas..you really are an enabler of the nth degree! 👍🇦🇺❤️
Love your video. It was very helpful. Im a newbe to sewing. Full quilt would be really lovely. Great idea to plan out blocks then leave it and go back to it.
Thank you so much! Glad it is helpful, especially to a new quilter! That always makes my heart happy to know newbies are learning from the videos. Please let me know if you have any questions! ❤️
Fall colors. I love it! I think a Table Runner for your mum would be perfect. I like the idea of orange thread stitched at an angle. You do such pretty work.
I’ve always thought my blocks were wonky because I did something wrong. I feel so much better seeing you have the same issue! Your tutorial was easy to follow and can’t wait to try this!!
Yay! I love that you are going to try it! I always seem to get wonky blocks from precuts. I don't think they are always cut on the grain. So happy I am not alone! ❤️
I just added those prints to my project. (I sort "everything" by value & work scrappy. I like that this one had real darks, many charm packs don't in my opinion.)
I agree! They don't usually have a lot of darks, which can mess you up. 😊 I was a bit nervous about going into a charm pack 'blind" for that very reason! 😂 Glad it worked out. Love the idea of using scraps! I just updated my blog with all the sizes/number of charms you need/etc. Hope that helps as you plan!
@@SewtheDistance I'm almost done with a light medium/dark medium checkerboard - I've gotten som many scraps that are not dark or light (more than a few from charm packs.)
I love how you go through and explain where to place your ruler to cut. I think if I watch you I will actually be able to do quilt making I’m going to give it another try.
Thank you so much! You never know when you are making a pattern/technique if it has been done or not. I haven't seen it yet either, but I wasn't sure if it was out there. I feel like everything has been done already. 😂 I love just playing with fabric and coming up with stuff like this. Thank you so much for watching!
I just bought a fat quarter of the fabric to make a quilt (some day) but now I’m thinking I need some charm packs too! Love the fabric and love the design 🥰
It would be. I still may do it. I made this one into two table toppers, but I am going on a retreat and would love to make a quilt out from this pattern. Thank you so much for watching!
OMG I love this, I have some charm packs my mom sent me 6 yrs ago for my birthday that I stored away and just find that would be great for this but as a samll quilt.
YAY! I love when that happens! I have a full list of different size quilts with the number of charm packs you will need to make each size on my blog. Hope this helps! I am so happy you love this one! Thank you for watching and sharing! ❤️
Another great idea! I like the crosshatch quilting. I think this would make a great quilt - you could cut up a layer cake into fourths, and you could make a quilt that's 5 blocks x 8 rows. Using the charm packs it's a nice pattern to use for quick table runner gifts.
You’re welcome 😊 I started quilting it and LOVE how it is turning out. Orange was a great choice. Can't wait to share it on my blog. Thank you for your kind words! ❤️
Hi Kris. Before you buy more fabrics for the one you were excited to make bigger check your own stash for goodies! Making more blocks will fill the need and give you more time to decide your finish. Hope this helps
I loved your tutorial! I used a layer cake so my blocks came out larger and I have a total of 4, but I still like it. I am making 2 table runners. I will attach a picture of the first one if I can figure out how to add a photo. Love your videos!
Thank you so much! I love that you did that! Awesome! Unfortunately, you cannot attach photos to comments yet, but you can email it to me, if you want. My email is info@sewthedistance.com. I'd love to see it!
❤ Love love, love this! And I love that you showed us different ways that we can use this. It is approachable and manageable and looks beautiful. You are very talented! Thank you so much!
It is such a tough decision. I am making table toppers out of this one, but I hope to make a quilt at some point, too. Thank you for watching and sharing. ❤️
I’m definitely going to try this! I have two orphans charm packs that haven’t found a home yet. So they are destined to be a baby quilt. I loved the look on point, so I’ll cut some setting triangles from a solid. Thanks for adding directions for a larger project!!
You are so welcome! I am so excited you are going to make this! It is really pretty on point. That will make a beautiful baby quilt! Love this idea! Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome! So glad you like it! I posted it yesterday. I hope you got a chance to watch! If not, here is a link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QhAzf3vhtEI.html I will be earlier next month. I promise. ❤️
Did you really? I love that! When I make a video, I never know if viewers will actually make the project. I LOVE knowing they do! Please sent me a picture! My email is sewthedistance@gmail.com. I would LOVE to see it. You can also post on my Facebook group, if you'd like! Thank you for letting me know! 🥰
I love the table runner. OrNge thread is a great choice for the quilting and. I think a quilt would be beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Love your channnel♥️😊
I love this! I might have to do a few of these out of Christmas fabrics for my kids. Really love it on point but the cross hatch quilting is so cute too! Thanks for sharing! ❤
My pleasure! So happy you love this one! This would be perfect for gifts. It is a fun pattern to make, too. ❤️ Thank you so much for watching and sharing. ❤️
I love this pattern, Kris!! So creative and versatile! I think it would make a beautiful quilt if you want to keep going - but it’s also a darling table runner! So I’m no help - either would be great!! Thanks so much for a fun tutorial, I’ll be using this pattern for something!!♥️
My pleasure! So happy you love it! I made it into two table toppers. I finished quilting them this afternoon. Now on to binding. ❤️ I love the idea of making it into a quilt, too. LOL! I am going on a retreat in a few weeks. I may make a big one then. Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
Very fall looking. The colors actually remind me of fabric from the 1960's and 1970's. Lots of brown and orange calico. By the way, the metal tray you have is similar to one my mother had. Memories!
Oh my goodness--yes! Maybe that's what I love it about it! It reminds me of our family kitchen growing up in the 70s! Thank you for the memories, too! ❤️
