Fishing for kings off Sydney rock platforms can be challenging. You have days where there going gang busters but there are a lot of donut (nil) days as well. Catching just one king makes it all worth while. Fishing fairly flat swell conditions allows me to fish the lower ledges.
Some Gear Specifications use on this outing:
• Rod- Saltist Hyper Heavy Rock Special S96 PE 4/6
• Reel- Daiwa BG Monocoque 8000 to 10000
• Braid- Daiwa J-Braid Grand 50lb
• Leader-J-Thread FC 60 to 100lb
• Lures plastics- Bait Junkie 7 inch Jerk Shad
• Lures hard body- Saltiga Dive Star 220 mm 120 gms

I caught a 80cm King on 9lb mono 15lb leader with a 20g metal.. was trying to get slimies for livebait and got nailed by the King. Solo mission so had to net it myself. One of the best experiences ever.

I remember having the pleasure of meeting you Alex going back over 10 years now whilst fishing next to you on one of those ledges and learned a couple of techniques from just watching you fish which I still use to this day. The slow spun garfish - the kings at times just can't resist. You're a gentleman. Was obvious you'd put in the hours. All the best mate 👍

You are so right! So many different methods to fish for them. I find amongst the piers they will only go for live squid or yellow tail. It Kirribili under the bridge the garfish works each and every time. Blues point, metals, slugs or any type of lure. Rocks, never seeing the garfish method in ozz as normally chasing them with other lures or mainly live bait. Love your work!

That's right Maico The far method works well especially when the eastern sea gars are in season. The river f go see do work as well. And as you mentioned a lot of techniques, lures and baits to catch a king.
