This is an interesting video. It's making me think about what I choose to sew and what I am forgetting about. It's true that we get FOMO and that some garments are so unique we only really need one. Ultimately, this makes me think I don't really need many new patterns. Now I want to dig into my patterns and make up some older ones. Thanks for the video!

i love buying patterns with multiple views/design details but i rarely take advantage of it. hopefully we will both remember to be better about it in the future!

Such an interesting, honest and thoughtful video. I am trying not to buy any more new patterns as I have more than enough, instead I will buy better quality fabric and remake patterns that I own and like but were not wholly successful usually because of the wrong choice of fabric. So thank you for encouraging me to spend a few hours " perusing " my pattern collection !

Nice video...im a pattern remaker..at least 3 times...i have to make so mutch fit ajustments...by nr 3 i mostly have the fit just the way i like. I have 1 woven jogger pattern i jus for pj's, lounge wear...in woven and french terry fabric...its just the best pattern for me. I tray new pattern 's til i have my favorite 1...coats i make only ones....because i like lots of different styles...i made 1 from ottobre design magazine that i think i remake if its wearing out. And i made the itch to stitch winterthur coat that i love so mutch i want a second one slightly lighter weigth. Its real fun to see/hear other people 's ways of thinking/aproching there makes/ remakes....loved some of your dresses..the dark bleu one and the red one look stunning.

Thanks for the insight on “why don’t I make another…”? I have many patterns in that category and haven’t done the deep dive to figure out why I haven’t remade them. I know there are tables out there that fold down on both sides for storage and don’t take up much room that way. I think your Rifle Paper co ( red with flowers) dress is beautiful. Happy sewing!

thank you! i have plenty of space for a larger table, i just haven't taken the time to look into one.

Hi Sara. I too needed a bigger cutting table so I decided to buy a used high kitchen table thru OfferUp. It’s 3 feet high and much more comfortable than cutting on the floor. It was being sold without the chairs so I got a steal of a deal!

I've always wanted to sew the Myosotis. I think that in addition to McCalls 7969 will be it for me when it comes to dresses. My closet is full 😊.

Great video Sara! I have a handful of patterns that I love and haven't made again as well. I probably have some that fit in each of your categories.

I sympathise with the back issues while cutting. I have only quite recently started garment sewing (I have been quilting for decades) and after the first dress I knew I was going to need a proper solution to the cutting issue. I was initially thinking of making my own with adjustable legs from Ikea but in the end I threw money at the problem and bought an adjustable height, folding sides table from Sew Ezi. It makes a big difference when tracing and cutting and means I can get a lot done without needing to take so many rest breaks. I also relate to having more patterns than it's possible to ever make, that's what happened with quilting and only six months in it looks as though it'll be a thing with garment sewing too.😁

I'm not sure where you are, I'm guessing USA from your accent, in which case I don't think they sell the cutting table there. It's a New Zealand company and I bought mine in Ireland, I also have one of their sewing machine tables. However, I'm sure that there must American brands that offer similar products. The most important thing is the ability to set it up to be the height that suits you, it has made a huge difference to my lower back. Lockable casters are useful too.

That was a fun different video. I don't do the make 9 but this year I did set myself a goal to remake 4 of my favorites since I seem to have the same problem. I have the extra category 'love it, fits me great, should make another,...but there is a NEW different pattern to try' which is so silly since the new pattern requires fitting and muslins and who knows what.

This brilliant video made me giggle in recognition - it also made me decide to go through my patterns and evaluate what I have before buying any more. Plenty of possibilities with my current collection. Thank you for much-needed inspiration and a welcome giggle.🌷
