Well done, Garrett! I've never had the pleasure of meeting you, but you are one of my favorite magicians working today. Your style of performing is relaxed, natural, and a joy to watch. Ramsay's Cylinder and Coins effect is one of my favorites, but I have only performed it live twice in my 50 years in magic. It is one of the most difficult coin effects to do well, meaning naturally and convincingly. I think it haunts many magician's dreams as they mentally grind over the many possibilities for using the props in various other ways. So we play with them again and again. We work on a new routine only to scrap it and return to a version of the original routine. It really is an almost perfect effect. A classic that has stood the test of time and will do so for many more generations. I have noticed a rather amusing thing that has happened during the Covid scamdemic. Many videos are appearing of magicians doing some crazy coin routines. Some of these routines look impossible to do in front of a live audience. My guess is that most of them would not be able to be performed in front of a live audience. Why? Because coins talk, oftentimes they talk loudly. Silent video with loud music tracks tends to shut up the talking of the coins. Is it fair to say that some magic effects are better suited for a virtual performance and some magicians are better virtually than live? I think that's a fair statement. closeuppads.com

I don't know how the trick is done. That being said, I prefer the wand version as that really shows the illusion, or the real thing, that it's an ordinary cylinder. I've already seen this trick a few times on video and I didn't like it. Perhaps I'd like it if I saw it in person and could inspect the cylinder. I have one constructive criticism regarding the video if you don't mind: always put some introduction music. When the video started without sound, I spent a few seconds trying to figure out why my sound doesn't work on my computer. It confused me! Thanks!
