Outside of the retail cost, this unit sounds and looks like a premium instrument! I'd place it within the range of mid to high end keyboard workstation. The Akai Mpc comparisons start and end with the 16 pad matrix. Maschine Plus will become a studio standard, as long as NI stays on track with the software updates, and change or add the offer for two additional expansions expansions to allowing the retail value to be applied as cash to purchasing the hardware. At $1299 it would be that much more attractive!

Problem here is not NI, its US customs duties. While you pay the same price in Euro and Dollar for MPCs (MPC live 2 is = $1200 in US and 1200 Euro in Europe) the maschine+ is in Europe only 1250 Euro incl. tax. Thats the draw back of customs wars.

1400 bucks? Fine by me. It will pay itself off after the first week. Sounds great too. How’s the pads though? Love my MPC but I use my keyboard for trills and such. Hat’s off NI.

I hoped you got the maschine jam working with the maschine+, but its just a jam ;-)
