Just Stop Oil Activists Jailed For 5 Years Over M25 Motorway Protest | This Morning 

Scientists released a report just recently warning that Earth's freshwater and marine ecosystems are rapidly losing oxygen as a result of, well, fossil fuel-derived issues. If that deoxygenation process is not stopped before it goes beyond the threshold for sustainability of life, then our waters will become unable to sustain life at all. If you really care about things like "people's rights" (and lives) then it's about time you acted like Big Oil was "callously endangering them." These protesters are practically a non-issue compared to the issues they are protesting.

I am pretty liberal myself and believe in a lot of what the left preach. My point is that certain media outlets are so scared to call these people out. Because the subject is considered a left minded view. When I see these idiots I don’t think the whole left is like this. As I know the majority of the left are decent people that want to change the world the right way.

You could try a small claims court, but not sure what the limit is. That won't be expensive.

They literally did nothing wrong. This is an attempt by the political right to illegalize peaceful protest. That way, when violent protests start happening instead, it'll become much easier for them to demonize _any_ protest movement.

@@kayleyv2140 One protest movement opposed conservative ideology and fought for women's rights. In order to gain women's rights, they hurt, killed, and died for their cause. The other is a protest movement opposed to the threat conservative capitalism poses to the human race's collective right to continue existing. They're doing _way_ less harm than the suffragettes ever did, but Big Oil is pouring lots of money into painting what they do as irredeemable evils... So yeah, I guess you're kind of right: The suffragettes didn't have to fight concentrated efforts by the mainstream industry, said industry's think tanks, media bought up by the corporate industry to peddle their narratives, people brainwashed by said corporate propaganda, and people paid off by Big Oil to badmouth their protesters in internet comment sections. Back in those days, most of that stuff happened in the newspapers instead.

Except not. You do not have any right to disrupt average citizens while protesting. Over here in America, a person's constitutional rights very quickly come to a screeching halt as soon as you exercising your rights, interferes with someone else exercising THEIR constitutional rights. You want to protest, you do it in a way that doesn't interfere with others. Blocking roads is absolutely interfering with others exercising their rights. And you do NOT have that right.
