Listen man... in 1984 I was 6 and on Christmas morning ALL I wanted was Optimus Prime Transformer and guess what?! I GOT IT... however when I first tried to transform him into a robot, I broke his leg off. I was traumatized for YEARS. Flash forward to 2021. I’m now 42. I have an unboxed Optimus from the new line. I was struggling with the wheel / shin transform going crazy and I was breaking out into a cold sweat, waiting for it to snap...AGAIN! Then... I found your video. Your video saved my Optimus and saved me from another 40 years of trauma. God bless you. 🙏 ✨
Yeah. Not easy. I have just gotten my 4 year old nephew into transformers. I have many if not all of the G1 deceptions. He surprisingly had little trouble transforming them. I got him this Prime since he loves watching the cartoons. I have trouble changing him. I’m going to have to get him a reissued G1 Prime. I know he was easier. Even though this thing is sweet.
Good video. It bugs be that, on so many Optimus Prime figures, his chest isn't really the front of the truck. You often can't tell that from the box, so it's good to see the actual transformation in a video.
I feel like if a designer could Goldilocks this and ERs transformation somehow, we could get a more definitive chug prime. Because ER Prime looks like child play in transformation compared to this Boys unfortunately.
More up to date Optimus Prime that's more faithful to G1. But here's where I would redo him a bit. Legs, turn the back wheels around 180° so they appear to be on the back of his leg. The headlights fold out, and the plate over the back of his hands as well to become a part of his arm. His bumper splits into 3 with the middle piece being a part of his codpiece. The other 2 moves with the headlights and folds around his forearm. His engine grille pivots near the top and inwards to give his waist more flexibility, and sadly can still be damaged by Megatron's light sabre. By the way, did you know the light sabre was created in fiction back in 1933? His back opens for his head to flip out with his chest still opening up to reveal the Matrix. Where his gatling guns are folds upwards and sideways to have the red panels for his abs.
Haha my 5 year old almost lost his mind trying to figure this thing out. I found this video, calmed him down and got him to relent to allowing me to lead him through it. It was a valuable lesson in the process that I hope leads to his eventual realization that cooler heads do, in fact, prevail.
I have this one and two other os knock off figures. Just realised there is a far easier way to get that roof around the smoke stacks. I want doing it like that. Still, i prefer to transform the cab first, then go to the legs. Lovely figure this, due to the aftermarket prices i picked up the genuine one last.
No, he and a select others were lucky enough to get one off of Ebay or (from what I've heard) The Chosen Prime. Despite no official release of the line (until next year).
@@thecasualreviewer2148 Right? The book tried to "highlight" the part you needed to open/close with this dark color red, which looked cool, but it made it pretty difficult to see what you needed to do.
