People are sleeping on this bag. For the pre order price it’s a no brainer top tier edc/minimal travel bag. I prefer the side quick access. It makes so much more sense than a top pocket. Sling it over bam you are into the pocket. Love it. One of my favorites in the rotation. Once you use a side access pocket it’s hard to go without one.
Thanks for the review. I really like that bag. I still EDC the Mystery Ranch Rip Ruck 15, but it is starting to get a little small. The MR 2DAP is great for travel and camping, but too bulky for EDC.
I have the original, love it especially the rigid shape even when not full, so it always looks professional instead of collapsing like others. Your new one seems to flatten at the top prob by design to be slimmer when empty. I like it.

As a bag lover this was great. But, did we miss the zipper on the top? I was waiting to find out if that was a padded laptop compartment???? I agree with you, George, slim line and somewhat elegant. I wouldn’t carry it with a sports coat, but with any other travel or EDC setup? 👍🏼
the biggest thing i hate about this bag are 2 things 1) it doesnt stand at all... not even the slightest 2) when you lock the magnetic buckle of the main compartment and u sling ur back on ur back really hard with ur rightarm, the buckle flies OPEN!!! super annoying
