The Matrix (Trilogy) is by far the superior franchise. The idea, the characters, the SFX and the journey itself was more high stakes. John Wick is more grounded and I guess more relatable and therefore the more popular choice and way more ruthless than Neo. Wick gets my vote.
Chad Stahelski was one of Brandon Lee's stunt double during the making of The Crow. That movie really was the eye opener for him realizing I need to make sure safety is the number one priority even though I show the hyper violence.
Marc Addow 1 second ago Absolutely, Maybe Dan Inosanto knew Brandon’s dad. They’re both missed sorely. Imagine if Brandon Lee was Neo in the Matrix. Keanu Reeves is brilliant as Mr Anderson tho haha
@@marcaddow7326 Dan has know Bruce since the 60s to the 70s. Bruce trained him in his art form of Jeet Kune Do. Dan trained him on how to use the Nunchucks, hence you see him using that in Way of the Dragon, Enter The Dragon and Game of Death the 40 minute footage Bruce had shot shown with the Bruce Lee A Warriors Journey documentary that came out in 2000. Bruce chose Dan to be one of his opponents. Dan claims he introduced the Nunchucks first to Bruce, but others like Pat Johnson say Fumio Demura (Mr. Miyagi's stunt double/fight double in The Karate Kid franchise) was the one to introduce Bruce Lee to the Nunchucks by providing instructional manual on how to use it).
There's so many standout action scenes in this film. Most of them clock in at no less than 10-15 minutes. My favorite is the Arc de Triomphe scene. Keanu doing drift donuts in a muscle car around henchman several times while shooting a pistol. It's so over the top and comedic. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
It's 100% CG and looks it for every moment! How can that be your favorite moment? It was awful! I mean, it's painfully slim pickings in this movie, but how on earth can THAT be your favorite?
@@zanerinsane1574 Neo isn't real, and if he were, he would beat John Wick on the basis alone that he's pretty much invincible and has inhuman capabilities. John Wick is a human. But furthermore, this is an absolutely pointless comparison.
Got my tickets and I'm watching it in a few hours, I seriously don't know how the John Wick franchise has become one of my favorites of all time with just 3 (now 4) movies. CANNOT WAIT TO WATCH THIS ONE!!!
Last time an action movie made me misty eyed in the theater was another legendary action movie T2, this movie is astonishing and is everything i needed in a action masterpiece :D
I just got out of an IMAX showing. No spoilers, you will NOT be disappointed. Best chapter in the entire series. VERYYY long though, so go with an empty bladder and don't drink alot of water during the movie. You're going to have a blast. I almost want to go again just to watch the fight against him and Killa (the fat purple suit guy with gold teeth in the trailer) The music, the sets, the action...🤌🏻 Perfect.
@@CeluiEtSeulBut John kept it going after he killed Santino on Continental Grounds. It could’ve stopped there, but his recklessness got the best of him and his allies paid the price for that and more.
I went to a screening on Tuesday and this film is insane from start to finish. It's probably the best action movie I have seen in years. Can't wait to see it again this weekend.
This franchise is probably the only one left that can call itself an action movie especially nowadays with all of the CGI and VFX. Just wanted to give a shoutout to Scott Adkins and Marco Zaror.
Bill Skaarsgard is someone I am really wanting to pay attention too, cause yeah he plays a great villain but now he has VERY high bar to reach with stepping into the role of Eric Draven/The Crow and how fans still don't want there to be anyone else other than Brandon Lee. So I am definitely excited to see him in this genre to kinda give me some sense of what to expect from him.
Dragon Breath rounds seen from a Birds Eye perspective in what looked like a single shot take…I put that up there with some of the best action sequences of all time. Loved the Osaka Continental fight scene and the club fight scene with Scott Adkins. This movie just knows its audience so well…
Just watched it today and I cried at the end. You’ve been on this ride with John and friends for so long now and the stakes are high and sure enough it happened, I didn’t think it would but it made sense. I had three favorite scenes in this movie; the Paris car/street fight when he’s in the car with the doors torn off (I was literally giggling in my seat when he was driving around them like that) The overhead mansion fight, pure perfection and the kitchen fight with that characters use of the motion sensor doorbells! Honestly a 10/10 movie
I like how each character represents the person John could’ve chose to become had he of stayed in this world and didn’t pick his wife, cause even the table feared him which I LOVED
John Wick 4 was a great movie. I can even say that it was better than 2nd and 3rd part in my opinion. Amazing movie and amazing acting by all the actors!
Long time watcher, 1st time commenting. I think it was the best of all 4. I loved the 1st hour just setting up what’s really about to happen. The Marquis’ and his men feel so real and dangerous. The Osaka Continental and him saying, prepare to entertain our guests. Whoo!!! So awesome!! I watched it in a MXT ATMOS theatre and the sounds were so great and really puts you in the movie. Lastly, the 1st scene really gets you going with those sounds of John “warming up”. Great review guys!! Cheers 🍻
Not many mention it but the costume/wardrobe design on this movie was outstanding and did a great job reflecting the personality/traits of each the characters.
JOHN WICK CHAPTER 4 WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!! THIS FRANCHISE KEEPS SURPRISING ME IN THE BEST OF WAYS!!!! This one is no exception like HOLY FREAKING CRAP!?!?!? THAT FREAKING FIRE SHOTGUN OVERHEAD SCENE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just checked Rotten Tomatoes and it is 94%. The last three were at high 80s. Amazing. Will see it Sunday. Watching so many martial arts legends in one movie is worth the ticket price.
This movie was simply perfect. All the new characters were just awesome it was a blast from start to finish I honestly think this is the best movie of the franchise. I don’t know how they keep making these masterpieces but man just amazing
Just saw it man……this will be one of those movie series I put my kids on just like my dad did with me “lethal weapon, Die hard, mission impossible” JOHN WICK!!!!
Dammit the first thing that popped to my mind seeing it was PacMan xD I thought there was nothing more to top the action and then they did this? Just breath-taking action the whole film
I can't help but think that JW4's story is structured like a video game. And I'm not just talking about the amazing top-down sequence that's apparently inspired by Hotline Miami. You have to beat a boss to progress but you have to deal with his mobs along the way, to literally going up levels to make your way to the final fight. Donnie Yen and Hiroyuki Sanada absolutely delivered it in this movie!
John Wick chapter 4 is an absolute masterpiece of cinema it blew me away🤯 the story, action sequences, dialogue, cinematography & score was out of this world👏🏾
Shout outs the Reel Rejects! @Reelrejects, John and Greg, y’all getting me hyped! 😂 I’m already hyped for John Wick chapter 4! All 2 hours and 49 mins of it! I’ll eat that Bon appetite meal lolz
Just watched it, it's a movie that you don't mind seeing it again and that's rare when it's almost 3 hour long. So much character development, the tension, the action sequence is sick!! Can't believe it's the 4th installment and it's the best one out of all. No woke BS, just a fun story with all of the characters, it went by pretty quick which means it was a good movie. Incredible
This movie was like #7 in my most anticipated list but with all the reviews and trailers this is probably my most anticipated or at least in my top 3 now. I’m absolutely pumped to check it out this Saturday!!
I gotta say Greg, you are looking freakin' incredible. I've been a follower of the channel for over 10 years now and you've come a long way since 2013. Looking like an absolute BEAST in this review. Keep it up, can't wait to see this film.
Im used to action movies being entertaining because of the stunts. Its so refreshing to see an action movie with great actors and where the story is just as compelling and fun as the action!! I was halfway through thinking I dont want this to be over yet. then near the end I was like how soon can I watch again!
The John Wick movie manages to convey the pain that the characters feel very well. In fact, it's possible to feel the impact of the bullets, the shootouts in the cars, and the jumps from the buildings. All of this is very well done. In addition, of course, there is all the beauty that exists in the movie's visuals, all the care and elegance that the director brings onto the screen - and all of this becomes even more apparent when you see the care taken in portraying a message through the beauty of a sunrise. I posted my review of the movie today and it's amazing! Come and learn more about the fourth film involving the beloved Keanu Reeves!
Watched the first two again, third tonight just proves that Keanu deserves all the praise from these John Wick movies good thing that Bill and Ted sequel and Matrix Ressurections that came out bombed given these John Wick have only made him more popular and I freaking love them
I hadn't seen any of the John Wick movies in theaters but I am so glad I decided to go see this one in IMAX. As you guys pointed out, that immersion and difference was there from the first scene. Dann.
I had heard from people who got to see it early that it was "the best one of the franchise", and I thought that was such a lofty standard to reach that I was almost worried I might be underwhelmed. I've given the other 3 9s & 10s in the past, and I now dont know how to rate this one, because by comparison, they are terribly underwhelming. You guys nailed so many great points, from the amount of screen time each character carries, to the scenes themselves, to the epic set pieces they choose to play these scenarios out in. I'll give it 100%, even though I can acknowledge there was a couple of things that made me go "uhhh, but theres no way...", but the scenes are so epic, you overlook the absurdity of them. The after credit scene got me. I wasnt expecting that. Also really thankful for the studio to rush out a cut that had an in memory of Lance Reddick at the very end.
Y’all are acting like lil kids. I really love that 😭❤️ this movie was a real 20/10. I would see it at least 20+ more times and endlessly. Everything about it was so badass and I just couldn’t have enough.
