You can say that but Poppin pete's favourite dancer of Nelson's generation is him, the musicality n the originality are more important that how cleaner you're, see Slim Boogie or poppin J for example, Slim in animation and J in boogaloo moves, both are dirty, but they're two of the best poppin dancers in the world now
very good battle, very hard decision, but we have to accept that decision. I saw yesterday evening live the judges performance and its hard to believe, that they wouldn't have any ideas about that, what they should...
PJ had the strongest solo. PJ and Boogz had the stronger 2-set. 1st gent in white had a comparably strong set to PJ, but not quite as strong; however, he opened, which IMO seems more difficult. The 2nd Gent in white had an okay set. He was disrespectful, danced too long and used a power move that was unfitting and off beat.
Before, i was thinking exacty what u are thinking now. But then, i have a a chance to watch him dance in the real life, and i have to change my mind. Hes really dope man i swear.
lol. no. The judges were: Kei from Japan for popping, Caleaf Sellers from USA for house, Niako from France for hip hop, and P-Lock from France for locking.
Good point my man :). But i believe its not about the clean or dirty that weighs more but the dance itself. Like slim and poplin J, its not SUPER DUPER clean but you can't call it dirty its really clean still their technique is off the hook,but what makes it rise above everyone else who practice like hell at home to clean their technique? its their dance, their relationship with the music and the style :). Moves are just moves, only with feel does it become dance :)
Jon Boogz is going to be a legend of his own style. In Florida we incorporate the fundamentals of popping in our own way so we don't have ANY similarities with anyone in the popping scene. There are too many CLONES in the scene now! Florida will be unleashed to smoke every single one of them. And Some CLONES WON THIS BATTLE LOL GET REAL!!!
I truly beleive jon boogz & Pop'n John won this one really.....These guys owned it because you can tell by the crouds reaction; is Louder and more respectable!!
Poppin John & Jon Boogz won because they were cleaner and more precise. Moreover,they also had a higher skill level,better musicality, and were more prepared.
Ok first of all it does not matter how long you been in the game Nelson pops he has his own style of popping his musicality is on point there's a reason why they're battling on that stage they're all on their own high level popping is about finding yourself and having your own style stop hating on others cuz that's just who they are
@WutangClan4LiF3 He was dancing to music very well. Come on, the main reason why that blow up at the end of his set was so sick is because it was right on the beat with a perfect set up. You can have a more stiff, animated feel and still be groovin to the beat.
(cot'd) I've nothing against throwing in a non-popping move like that, but incorporate it better. The two guys in white had a pretty weak 2-set. Wasn't feeling boogz, but he seems to be the most respectful dancer, which is just as important.
i think, after reading the comments i understood that the frenchteam won. but befor reading the comments i would also have bet on them. boogs was too lahm compared to the others. i think the only thing wich was better on the us side was the routine, and john did some interesting tricks. but.. we all know that most of the judges dont consider tricks so much. so yes i would say nelson deserve the win, even if i dont realy like his way to dance.
If I found out Nelson and Franquey and 40 children died in a bus accident I would be like Nelson and Fraquey died?! Yeeesss!!! Most disrespectful dancers ever god rest the souls of those small kids.
Boogz and John, I felt got robbed. Something about Nelson's style that's a little much for my liking, too boogalooish (prolly gonna hear it for that one) but I can't deny his musicality. Franquey was kinda riding Nelson's coat tail throughout the battle, IMO. He held his own for the most part but not enough to take out Johns or Boogzs rounds. Nelsons & Franqeys duo set wasn't better then John and Boogz. Johns solo compared to Nelson I thought he edged him out, so that on top of Boogz's solo. "W"
popping john was slightly better than nelson but jon boogz round was lacking and i think nelson and franquey were both on a higher level where as popping john pretty much carried boogz respect to both teams though
Nelson wasn't really sloppy you know. I watched the vid a couple times, he was cleaner than both John and Jon Boogz. I'm not picking favorites or anything either, both Nelson and Franquey won KOD in china. Nelson beating the legend Kite and Franquey beating Superdino. Like at 1:58, a popper should know the song and beat, so it was a very predicatable move and not difficult. Nelson is control is on another level and he has impressive musicality. Tricks and cool looking moves doesn't get it now.
@traysowda, Soo true!...And I also dont understand how Nelson can make fun of anyone!...Jon Boogs footwork is better than his, but as far as spreading his arms and legs out more Boogs does need to expand!...I've studied Nelson though and if you look close at his face expression he knows whos better than him!...Hes definitely destroyed with Bruce and Salah!....And can't hang with Johns concepts and popping!...Why make fun of someone when your supposedly on top!...SCARED, THEN GO TO CHURCH RIGHT?.
Not to point out the obvious, but I'm pretty sure the crowd knows this is a dance battle... If they cheer, perhaps there's a reason? Also, correct me if I'm mistaken, but the cheering came from a London crowd not an American "show crowd"... Just Sayin.. W/ Love.
Boring style doesn't exist, because styles are personnal. Nelson's style is my favourite, so you're wrong in what you said. He mocks boogz 'cauz boogz doesn't have the right hit, his pops are like begginer's.
Popping John won that battle by himself John Boogz did his thang but Nelson is sloppy and he repeats a lot if stuff no real signature moves it is a battle so you are supposed to do something to set yourself apart. But popping JOhn was cleaner and all his moves had a motive of blowing up his opponent. Where in previous years sometimes he would be a little show case oriented.
@goapeshytt Yo, I'm friends with Coco so I'm not saying this because I'm hating, but that exact move has been around for a loooong time, especially in krump. It just isn't as common in popping, but now they've incorporated it. So hey, if we should be like that both Coco and John are biting many krumpers.
