John Galsworthy's Justice (1910) is a problem play with its deep insight on the penal system and solitary confinement of his time. It is a story about a man who forges a cheque to flee with a woman. She is tortured by her husband and finds no solace in her married life and wanted to settle abroad with Falder, a clerk.
