Mags was such a great villain. Stone cold killer..intelligent...reserved and subtle most of the time. one of the best female villains I've ever seen. This actress was amazing.
I always appreciated the country politeness of the characters throughout the series. No matter what type of nefarious and messed up activity they were involved in. Fantastic series and acting.
I miss this kind of writing and characters like this so much. No one makes series this well anymore. And it's a shame, because this series was just amazing.
@@tompickett5637 yea I know, I have it. It is a great series. I'm not surprised it only has 1 season though, it feels like that particular story was the full thing. Because it was a book adaptation and usually if there isn't a second book it's only meant for 1 season. Kind of like "The Queens Gambit". Great story, but only 1 season.
Nobody, eh? Justified is the end all/be all of well written shows? /facepalm. See this same kind of nonsense by fanbois of just about any series. Can't be happy with the one, have to shit on everything else in the process. Lame.
Mags ruled the clan with an iron fist and an ax and a bottle of juiced apple pie moon shine she was a great actresses and a perfect character for her 3 nit wit boys 😂😂
Don't entirely agree. Coover was a nitwit, no doubt. Dickie was half-bright, just clever enough to get himself into trouble. Doyle was a solid soldier.
The actress who plays Mags (Margo Martindale) was only in 10 episodes, but she won an emmy for her portrayal! I think the first time I saw her was in "Lonesome Dove" back in the 80's. Since then, she's done literally dozens of films and TV episodes including some iconic supporting characters.
One of the more understated things of this series, was Raylan's temper. Got it from his pops and it was referenced here when Mags pointed out the limp that Dickie had thanks to Raylan. (They spell this out in detail later in this season when Raylan tells exactly how this went down.) In spite of the bad blood between their families, Raylan wasn't trying to see them wiped out by Dixie Mafia. I absolutely loved this second season and the modern spin on the Hatfield v. McCoy deal we got with the Bennetts v. Givens.
Watched a clip on here. Then binge watched the complete series in less than a month. The best character was Duie Crow( probably spelt wrong). He was just Thick(dumb) The Brilliant Timothy Olyphant was class as ever. Walton Goggins as never started in Rubbish that's made it over the Pond!
As a European, I'm not the greatest fan of American tv series. But Justified is - imho - the greatest series ever. Brilliant cast, fantastically written and directed - and main characters who were born for their parts: Mags, Dewey, Boyd - there are many - and, above all, Raylan. The coolest cowboy marshall ever
Is it possible that Margo Martindale is the mother of the actress who plays Debbie Gallagher in the US version of Shameless? There's quite a distinct resemblance.
It was to be expected. Look at the quality of writers nowadays. Also one foundation of the show was nepotism to force Olyphants untalented daughter into the show . It was destined to fail from the start.
More Dickies hair brained idiocy. He set a lot of it into motion like in this instance. Everything would have went quite smooth for the Bennetts without the two idiot sons
Has anyone heard if they are going to have another series of Justified/City Primeval/Justified Return to Hazard or Justified Chasing Boyd to Mexico this coming year ? Now that they have settled the writers/actors strike it would be Great News to hopefully learn that we could get Boyd n Raylan back to some form of Justified... Probably my favorite show followed close by Blacklist.... Please FX ... Give us back Justified.. maybe Ava and Art also🙏
After watching City Primeval, I hope they don't. That show was awful compared to the original. It was like whoever wrote the show had never even seen Justified. What a complete disappointment...
Dicky: "I THOUGHT that this was a good deal...." WHY does it seem to me, that "thinking" was never really Dicky's strong suit? I mean, it isn't as though he's as dumb as his brother Coover, but. He just seems exceptionally "impulse driven"... just as much as Coover is. I'm sure that Dickey and Dewey Crow could have a mental foot-race to see who comes up with the worst bad idea... If Dickey's brains were dynamite, he wouldn't have enough to blow his nose.
