It really makes u wonder what the state of the DCEU would be like today if the snyder cut was released originally in 2017 and Joss Whedon was never brought on. Probably wouldve had a Batman solo movie, more Superman movies and JL2 by now. Also there will be no BTS drama with Ray Fisher and he would still be playing Cyborg. God damn it WB.

@@Tragedyval if we got the compromised version no way would it had made the mark that this film has made and will make. This 4 hour epic will truly go down in history as a phenomenon. I didn't think the reception was gonna be this huge but it has and it's just a different feeling surrounding the film. Like a myth that came to life and immediately turned into legend.
@Tachanka Main lol of that's your take but complete disagree. I'll also actually give a reason why 1. Character dept is better 2. the justice league members actually get shit done 3. Steppenwolf actually has motives 4. The action was phenomenal in my opinion 5. The overall tone was great. (Had humor but not enough to kill the mood and alot of the dialogue was more serious) 6. Darksied 7. The visuals are beautiful and just pleasing to see. I could go on but I'll stop here.

I've had my fair share of problems with some of Zack Snyder's films, but there's no denying that he has so much passion for the craft of film making and genuinely cares about the stories he tells. I'm so glad he got a second chance to tell the story he wanted to.
Zack ..ever since the start..has astounded me with his visual story telling, unlike anyone else, he's been using the majick of cinema in ways leagues ahead of everyone else. .he has the ability to conjure the whole movie, in detail, in his head, and is able to create the detailed story boards, (just like a comic) to share that vision to everyone working with him.. he's brave, experimental and super passionate about his craft, and clearly ahead of his time for most.. I've personally been waiting for something even close to his vision to appear in cinema for decades. His movies do have their flaws, but over all ..that's not too important, and often because of studio interference. .over all, he's definitely someone to watch .. he hasn't totally perfected his message just yet. ..back to your comment though..he is known for being a really great person, by everyone who works with him, a true role model amongst the many creeps and ego monsters still in the scene.. and I hope he gets to fulfil his DC cinematice vision..because he is a life long fan of the stories he's bringing to life..and no one else could come close to what he is capable of..

I find it interesting how Snyder is doing all the promotion for this movie. Normally the actors do it and get all the spotlight but given the journey to this film, I think it is fitting that Snyder is doing it all
My guess is the actors are just exhausted by the whole experience and don't want anything to do with it. They loved Zack but they probably also know WB is just going to shit on any hopes people have. The marketing for the original JL was brutal where you could see Affleck just mentally going, "I don't want to be here getting blamed for this shit."
There’s also contractual issues with it too. As much as the cast would love to do press junkets to promote the film, they would need to be paid. So the most you’ll see them promote it is through Twitter and IG.
I am being honest I have a lot friends who were a big fan of Zack Snyder and they made me understand his vision and after watching his movie I must say I am Snyder fan now

Those guys were true auteurs and were misunderstood in there time by a lot of critics with the exception of a handful of them. They knew what they were doing was bold, challenging, thought provoking, entertaining and yet artful in the genre when so many are just copycats. All those guys did some crazy stuff in the genre and subverted it and challenged audiences and some audiences loved it and some hated it or were left scratched their heads and didn't get it. Zack Snyder's films polarize audiences and split people down the middle but over time his work will be more and more appreciated and respected, the tide has turned somewhat. He managed to shoot scenes amid the pandemic’s sporadic shutdowns and even managed to do pick up shots in his own driveway - that then the studio told him to toss out. It seems hr has had it up to here with the WB. I bet he found shooting his zombie flick with Netflix refreshing. From what I heard Netflix doesn’t interfere with production like Disney and WB does.
The Concept Art of Batman finding the Parademon Nest was never seen means it was not shot because of WB, also we are missing that Desaad shot that we got in the DCFandome trailer.
Sadly an issue no unlike back in 2013-14 with the Arrowverse with characters such as Deadshot, the Suicide Squad, Batman, and so on: they are afraid that people will get confused if there is more than one version of the character. And since they are developing a GL series for Max, and there is a GL movie in production hell, they likely said no.
Excellent interview Sean as always! It just pisses me off knowing that studio WB doesn't want to give Zack full autonomy to complete his vision and finish the Superman story arc. I would have liked to see John Stewart as Green Lantern in the ZSJL movie but obviously WB is still putting the spades in the wheels once again. I really like Zack for the excellent work of cinematic art that we provide and introduce us to our favorite superheroes on the big screen. The Snyder Cut proves that Zack’s vision has been planned out from the start. Hopefully WB will restore the Snyderverse, because he just proved that he’s got the vision to execute one of the most ambitious superhero odyssey’s ever conceived. I was today years old when I realized that the reason Zack Snyder doesn't want to see the theatrical cut of Justice League probably has absolutely fuckall to do with the theatrical cut of Justice League. I mean, the artistic integrity of not wanting to watch it is badass, and I absolutely respect that. But I don't think for a second that the reason why he does not want to watch it isn't because Justice League is his baby, it's because it wouldn't have been made at all if it weren't for the most absolutely devastating tragedy a father could ever experience. He doesn't want to see that. But also, knowing how Zack Snyder loves the music that he does, there's no way that first ten minutes is going to feel anything but insulting. Fuckin' Sigrid, man.

If Christopher Nolan really did leave WB, I can understand why. There has to be much more reason behind it because WB have become really iffy these days. Not trying to bad mouth because I’ve liked some of WB’s previous films, but WB honestly don’t deserve to have DC under their umbrella.

Zacks style might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least you can respect his passion for what he does. He is an artist and not just a Hollywood hack. I personally liked his vision for the dceu and it's awesome that he got to finish justice league. I even liked bvs and man of steel was a masterpiece, his best film in my opinion.

Man of Steel, BVS and the Snyder cut all together make such an amazing story, I hope that one way or another we get to see Zack’s vision for the next justice league movies.

Zack Snyder intended Justice League to be a multi-part story and it's clear from ZSJL that it's only the tip of the iceberg ("the tip of the tip of the iceberg," as Silas Stone said). I mean, what comics fan doesn't want to see the Justice League go up against Darkseid? What comics fan would have preferred what we got in 2017 over this? If we can get more of this and convince WB to listen to the fans and let creators do their thing, that can only be a good thing.
It's incredible how much better Zack made the Justice League film. Warner Bros were fools to change his vision of the film when he left for personal reasons and bringing in Ross Whedon. Whedon's version is pretty much unwatchable now because of how much of it he destroyed, especially in regards to Cyborg, whose pretty much the heart of this movie. From what I hear, DC tends to be darker than Marvel and its very apparent in the films. Zack wanted to do his own thing with these characters rather than copying what Marvel did with theirs and I think it pays off. It's really clear that Warner Bros has no idea what they're doing with their cinematic universe, just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Marvel has Kevin Fiege at the head of their cinematic universe. They follow his vision and plan for the MCU. I think Warner Bros needs to do that with Zack Snyder. I really want to see the rest of his vision for the DCEU is. Here's hoping that the fans can make it happen like they did with this.

After having seen ZSJL, I have to wonder why they even reshot anything in the first place. All of the story beats are the same as the HBO version. The hbo version is just far better. So like why the hell even bring in another director in the bloody first place.
It's pretty obvious what they tried to do with the theatrical cut. They had two priorities: 1) 2 hours runtime no matter what, and, I think more importantly to them, 2) copy Marvel's success. They wanted to have their own Avengers with the same jokey style, but they failed to realize what all copycats fail to realize, you never get success by going "me too". It's not a unique example by any means, most companies are doing the same thing in all industries at all times, just look at video games companies copying whatever is seen as the most popular genre at the time, and creating "must play" clones that fail disastrously because they have no authentic core.
Could his John Stewart be John David Washington? I know Nolan wanted to see him as a Green Lantern so maybe he pulled a little “Inception” on Snyder’s mind.
