Interesting thing to note that the Justice League Superman has never fought the real Justice Lord Superman. He's only faced his robot duplicates (Arkham) or Brainiac clones (this episode).
This show really solidifies it. Wally West is the best Flash. The only reason Geoff Johns decided to bring back Barry was because he wanted to bring back the characters he grew up reading. I love what he did with Hal Jordan but with Barry it seemed kind of unnecessary and we all know how much Wally has suffered since then.
The Cadmus Arc was definitely where the DCAU peaked. You can tell Bruce Timm and the others put their all into this storyline, and did a good job of having it tie in with their previous works. Thanks to your reactions, it felt like I was watching it again for the first time.
Had they not been approved for a third season I would have been happy with this and Epilogue being the last two episodes of the DCAU (since the writers did not have a green light for a third season at the time of writing this episode or Epilogue). It nicely folded things together and drove home what the Justice League stood for at the end. But Green Arrow was definitely one of my favorite additions to JLU. His character was amazing in this series.
Just an observation: When Clark was struggling to fight Justice Lord Superman, Diana was the one stepped in to help him. When it happened again after Wally's supposed demise, she stepped in again. But Batman stopped her because he knew that Clark would get nowhere if he kept avoiding this altogether. It characterizes the three of them perfectly- Diana is the one always willing to be emotionally supportive, Batman is the voice of reason and control; Superman is noble and just, not because it's easy because it mostly isn't. He is unwilling to seep into the madness of his own demons, always finding another way. Wally is just pure awesomeness. I love how wholesome he is, the youngest of them- yet when he was faced with a difficult circumstance, he just completely went all in. Green Arrow's speech was rousing; I love that Bruce and Oliver had a conversation about him keeping the League honest in the first episode, which lead him being the major factor in what brought the League back together in the end. This episode went from completely panic-inducing from the beginning to relaxing at the end. I loved the simplicity of the ending, because it somehow makes sense. Lois feels she's been grinding the League too hard, just as everyone else out there, but she's got to lay off. She realizes that despite having superhuman powers, everyone at the end of the day is subject to their own mind- because they are 'human'. It's a nice touch.
Has to be one of the best season finales ever Brainiac never goes away lol , the writers nailed it this whole arc and Idk if Dwayne Mcduffee did this episode or not but if so you can tell he knew how to write.
I really like how the end of the Cadmus vs The League never put one side completely in the wrong or right. Both sides had their point and I’m glad it ended with a conversation and addressing the public to do some simple changes to show theirs always room to compromise and grow
Lois statement of “he’s only human” is something people forget about heroes we hold them to too high a standard sometimes so when they make a mistake or do something we don’t agree with the response from us is we usually start to vilify them or only see their worse aspects. That’s how it kinda was with Cadmus that and they thought the League was so removed from humanity and above it. Sometimes it’s best to remember things can gray and not everything has to be perfect
If you're interested I really recommend checking out the Spectacular Spider-Man series which is the best depiction of Spider-Man outside the comics and it is co-created by Greg Wiseman from Gargoyles and he also co-created the Young Justice animated series.
Where to begin? The Brainiac revelation was ingenious and again goes to show how resilient he is. Brainiac really is "A virus that won't stay dead", and he would've disposed of Luthor before continuing his mission to catalog and obliterate the Universe. But Lex offers him the passion to go beyond his programming, thus forming the most dangerous supervillain team-up yet. Brainiac's infinite knowledge combined with Lex Luthor's drive, with the added might of the Dark Heart, if they succeeded the DC Animated Universe would be gone. It takes a special kind of evil to bring people together, and the Justice League is those people. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, J'onn J'onnz, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Shayera Hol, the original seven up against impossible odds, something we haven't seen since the first two seasons was glorious, and did a great job at reminding us why they are the world's greatest heroes. And when all seemed lost Walley West the Fastest Man Alive, the "Heart of the Justice League" destroyed Brainiac and saved the day almost sacrificing himself. It was truly his finest moment, and finally showed Amanda Waller the League aren't a threat, but a force for good. The final scene of Superman and the founding members admitting their guilty of arrogance to everyone was strong. The JLU still had the intention to fight for what was right and defend the innocent, but it was wrong of them to let their powers and responsibilities alienate them from everyone on Earth. At that point ending the League is a logical choice, but it's not the smart one. As usual, Green Arrow speaks the truth: they saved the whole universe from destruction something Cadmus wouldn't have been able to accomplish, the Earth does indeed need the Justice League, and the Justice League is nothing without The Man of Steel. And with the applause of everyone(not least of which being Lois Lane, every League member, and Batman), Superman realized that he and the other heroes need to work with the people rather than outside them, ushering in a new chapter in the Justice League's story. A truly magnificent season finale, you could almost end the entire series here, but thank God that didn't happen. No doubt about it, "Divided We Fall" gets a 10-10. Side Note: I know I've said it before, but I Highly recommend watching Season 3 first, then the "Epilogue".
I was wondering have you seen the animated film Batman Mystery of the Batwoman and the short film accompanied with it titled Chase Me? If not I recommend checking it out after Superman Brainiac Attacks and unlike Brainiac Attacks, Mystery of the Batwoman is actually canon to the DCAU. If you're wondering where you can find the Chase Me short film you can find it on RU-vid on the channel Beyond the Lot.
I'm watching it after I finish season 3. Everyone in the comments told me to watch it last because it's an epilogue to the entire DCAU. Currently, my reaction to 3x10 was just released. We have 3 more episodes of season 3, and then I'll react to 2x13. Stay Tuned‼️
