I’ve learned a lot of lessons this year. I just started college and I already know the pain of depression. The frustration you have with yourself but no capability of changing it. No motivation. I had so many friends and many there for me. But I still felt lonely. And I realized it. There is a very big difference between being alone and feeling lonely. This song gifted me with a lot of crying. But I was told something that helped me a lot. My brother told me “It’s okay to not be okay.” Really thinking about that sentence really allowed me to wallow in my sadness and emerge strong

To the person who read this, It’s been hard for you, I know, and it makes me sad that you don’t see yourself in the way I see you. Sometimes they are things in life that cause us to loose ourselves, and the way you have is so unimaginable painful. I miss your smile, the way your eyes light up the whole room just by the sound of your laughter. I miss the way you accepted the way you look in the mirror without cursing yourself out about how ugly you look. I miss the way you didn’t think of yourself as a failure because everyone makes mistakes, we all have flaws and we all aren’t perfect. Loneliness manifests in different ways. Loneliness doesn't always mean that you don't have friends or a supportive family. Sometimes, people feel lonely because they're tired of fitting into a world where so much is amiss.
