I'm the same way tbh. Idk I just think there's still this perception from people that only females and LGBTQ+ can idolize female singers especially Mariah who has very feminine vocals, I hate it tbh. One's sexuality shouldn't be judged by the music he/she/they listen to.
I wish his own music would reflect his taste. Once he puts some actual soul into his music, I think his own stuff might be better received. The back-end of Changes shows a lot of potential.
@Xzd a lot of artists want to do 90s style music and like The vocal Trinity style like with power ballads and meaningful songs but unfortunately those types of songs aren't popular anymore and artists who have tried to release that type of music flop. Their labels would never allow them to make music that's not trendy at the moment

Butterfly is one of her most critically acclaimed albums but the Tommy machine had already started taking her down by attacking her vocal ability.... He could not understand that she only changed her singing style....
@Clam Clam true but still, Honey and My All were big hits, especially Honey! And stayed classics. Honey debuted at #1. I feel like besides the albums you mentioned and maybe debut, it might be her most critically acclaimed album.
@@AchillesandArtemis it definitely is her most critically acclaimed album without a doubt when looking back at 90s R&b it ranked no5, she had 3 other albums on that list but only that one broke top 10 and for a good reason. Rap/sung collabs weren’t popular until Mariah did them in butterfly. It’s her best album in her disco without a doubt. From me it goes butterfly, emancipation, caution, daydream, debut, music box.... but butterfly is just unbeatable
Glad Bieber can appreciate good music! He's absolutely right, Butterfly is so underrated. There's gem's on that album that are so ahead of it's time like "The Roof" with mobb deep, "Breakdown" with bone thugs, and Honey.

Damn, no wonder she did a collab with him. I always wondered why she blessed him with that, but now I respect him more as an artist since he looks up to one of the greatest one of all time.

"Skydiving", "Don't Forget About Us" chorus, and "My Love" is the best a female artist has sounded (tone) on record, except perhaps, some songs of Keyshia Cole, Fantasia, and Christina Aguilera. Other songs on which MC sounds like heaven to the ears are: Touch My Body, Make It Happen, Against All Odds climax, Outside Climax, Angels Cry, Open Arms, 100%, Everything Fades Away, Thank God I Found You, I Know What You Want, to name just a few.
𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙡𝙮 is Mariah’s last pure album. She hasn’t written or sang the same since then. This was the last album where Mariah and her voice Rode the BEAT and now the BEATS ride Mariah. Mariah, we want the Voice. The Vocals. We don’t need the over the top, underwhelming autotune-hip hop productions. That’s all...
i disagree, emancipation of mimi, memoirs and caution are great albums and she's always been an amazing writer, her voice obviously won't sound the same as it used to due to nodules and its been 20+ years since the butterfly album was recorded. her voice is still great
Right on@@user-rx8bk6tw3s . I like those albums too; I just feel that Butterfly is on another level as far as creation and production (just my opinion). Yes, Mimi’s voice is still great. I enjoyed 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡 but I just felt that 𝘾𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 was dependent on AND relied on beats instead of Mariah’s pure voice. With that being said. I’ve seen Mariah live many times and she never disappoints. All Hail the Queen.
@@aphilkasi I will say that Caution did have a lot of beats... I mean personally, I liked it because she was experimenting with that part of her musicality... but I do love more of the ballads and songs like the ones on Emancipation of Mimi. I also want her to do another gospel song or at least a gospel influenced song.
