Justin Hayward performing live at The Paramount Theater on June 4, 2016 in Austin Texas. This performance coming off 2 cancelled shows in Oklahoma for a bad case of laryngitis. Love Justin's story telling.
I'm 67 now in '22, and I fully remember telling my late Mom when I was about a freshman in high school (prob.1969-70) as I played this album in our downstairs den, that I wanted this played at MY FUNERAL IF I died before my time. I made her promise. She just nodded her head very knowingly, didn't say a word, and smiled what was much like a Mona Lisa smile. Her eyes twinkled and she kept on doing what she was doing. Here I am with headphones yet again.....playing this magnificent tune. What a joy. And no funeral for me.....nope. Just get me cremated and put me in a little box. I'll catch up with you the moment you cross over....I promise.
Such a beautiful song from such a special man. It's always been my favorite MB song, and it always moves me almost to tears each time I hear it. Thanks for the wonderful clip.
I can't say how much joy Justin Hayward and the Moody Blues have given me...this is just a unique moment all were blessed to be part of as an intimate setting sharing with a wonderful musician.
Can saying "love" many times over express how much this song means to me? If so, then I love love love this song. It's been a good, close friend for decades. I can't listen without tears, still - the words express my life.
We all have songs we live by....this definitely is one of those songs that I hold close to the heart....well said Gwyn....glad you enjoyed this song...
me too. This is my favorite song...I was inspired enough to find that field and forest for myself and had three horses. it was so peaceful. I just love Justin's heart❤
"There's that sound again". My father, same age as Justin, brought Days of future passed from a record-store in Stockholm to our hometown in Sweden and introduced all who were interested in music to the Moody - world. This was the very week it was released. My father has been a devoted Moody-fan ever since as the whole family, now passed on to his children childrens children (!) also. 7 year old Sandra wants to hear Twilight time on the way home from school.
I love this man and his music. This older Justin is quite a bit different from the younger Justin...he used to be so quiet and reserved...now, he's funny and he shares it. No small wonder I keep falling in love with him, over and over and over.... I just put this on loop yesterday to listen to...was a bad day for me, and I really needed it.
I have pretty much given up only watching the news and devoted my time to listening to Justin and the Moody blues. They bring a peace to my life and silence the pain we live thru each day of our lives. Thank you Justin
They have always sung the perfect songs for everything in my life - got me through the good times and the sad times. How to say how much they mean to me? There are no words to thank them enough... Love, Jaz
Besides being an excellent guitarist and vocalist, what comes through most in your music is your incredible ability to express your feelings, emotions, and caring. Your love comes through and we love you too Justin Hayward!
I have always loved Justin and the Moodies ever since the first time I heard them. There is an ethereal quality to Justin's voice that no one else can duplicate. Am hoping to see one of his solo concerts some day. Simply the best, and thank you so much for recording these performances.
Put seeing a solo show on your bucket list. He is quite the story teller as he looks back on his life during these concerts. The songs he does in these concerts you will not hear at a Moody's concert...I have attended 3 solo shows and he gets better each time I have seen him... I am spoiled in seeing his solo shows over a Moody concert....still looking forward their concert in July.... I'm glad you enjoy my videos.
Hi Dan, we saw this show in Bristol, UK this past May and I brought my daughter, Autumn, it was stunning, she was named after Forever Autumn! And Mike and Julie came out afterwards to sign autographs and we have pictures with both of them! So wonderful, no Justin afterwards but he was outstanding!!!! They all were! xoxo Thanks for the video! :-)
I love the moody blues a great bad that always takes you back to the days of your youth. for me this song takes me back to when i was living in a commune with 37 friends we lived in a deep forest for 18 months. it was really something amassing. sadly a few years ago one of the guy died and this songs just brings a sad/happy tear. RIP Paul
Sad to hear of good friend; I also lost a precious & Amazing friend in 2011 from San Jose California. Randy had such a beautiful soul; never got to marry the girl he loved. An excellent piano player. He hitched his way to The Lighthouse Ranch in Eureka California in ‘77. The very best days of being young; we were roommates; into Christianity & natural foods. Take care. ✌️
Justin explains why it is so important. Been one of those songs that are timeless. I've always felt that he was singing ab our Lord Jesus Christ!!! I turned on my daughter in law to this little time, she loves it, can't believe it's been so long. Been out for 50 years now.
I have always and still do love this song. I cannot explain why but it always makes me think of Moonwatcher ....or the final image of the Starchilld, both from my favourite film 2001, A Space Odyssey ❤️❤️❤️,
The break hook (4:20) is really great. That basic chord (progression) is a common on Hayward's songs and started with this tune right at the beginning. If you play guitar it's not simple but if you hit it you can thank Hayward for making us clowns sound like we know what we're doing. Wonder who, if any, American born writer/singer we have to compare with Hayward?.
I listen to the Moodys music while stargazing with my telescope up in the mountains and watching the Milky Way move through the sky. What a great combo.
Did anyone else notice that in the first verse he used the line from the last verse. Instead of signing "why have I been alone so long" from the original he sang "I hope it won't be very long".
We've been enjoying band's from England our entire lives. Moody Blues, Bowie, Queen, Beatles and all of their solo careers, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Duran Duran, Genesis and Peter Gabriel, Roxy Music, T Rex; the list goes on and on
@@cognitivetriad Me too from your side across the pond - Zappa, Steely Dan, America, The Doobies, Joe Walsh, Starship, The Tubes, the list goes on. Mutual respect, Sir.
This is a solo tour. Now in 2019,Graeme has retired,it's just Justin and John on separate tours. Hopefully they can do something together in the future. I just saw Justin for the first time in St.Louis,MO and it was magical. Nothing like a real live in person concert 4 rows away from him. 🥰😊🤩😍
