Yeah I remember that turned into a conversation about analytics being bad or misused. But the whole point is to reframe decision making and optimize a team's chances of success. I can't recall the specifics from that game, but if the team had a good play call on and all that, I don't hate the decision just because it didn't work out.

I knew instantly this wasn't the same Herbert, that I saw play for Oregon. He is a lot of fun to watch, as a rival. You never know what's going to happen when the Chargers and Broncos play. @@cozyboyreacts2799 Perhaps he was overweight in his later years, but prime Ben wasn't fat and unathletic at all. This presumption leads me to believe you only saw Ben at the tail end of his career. I would never call him an elite athlete by any stretch of the imagination, but you make it sound like he was a fat QB standing like a statue in the pocket. Prime Ben could evade and shrug off tacklers like nobody else.

@@giants2k8 he was a better athlete than Allen and Herbert, when he came into the league, just back then they did not really let qb’s run as well as him getting hurt a lot and not taking care of himself took that away

@@kylecummings6893 the lions are my home town team I cheer for man, I sip the kool-aid every year so I cant tell if they are actually going to be good, or if I'm just falling for the hype train again. That said, I'm excited. I think goff is more capable then the credit hes given. I think they could have a top 3 O line in the nfc, I think they've done really well to address each of their needs (secondary help, linebacker, pass rush, and wide out). I'm excited to see that all the contracts on the team are fair and reasonable with the exception of goffs. The only issue is actually winning. You can be the best team on paper but it doesn't matter until you go out and win. And I think its fair to say the lions have earned the scepticism put towards them. If you want my full kool-aid take, I think the lions will win more games than the rams this year. Mainly because of contract balance. The biggest change being Matt stafford going from a 20m cap hit to a 40 m cap hit. You drain 10% of the finances for any team and they will dip hard.

Because they cant imagine the lions hosting an NFL draft that they traded their first round pick for........ Ha... Haha.... But its the most detroit move they could do. The consequences of not converting 3rd down are miniscule when compared to 4th down. They would need to be converting closer to 75-80% for it to be worth it.
