Imagine when he gets a healthy o-line and a running game, the wins will come. Hopefully he can stay healthy because he has taken alot of shots just as Burrow.
As an Oregon fan, it was so comical seeing all the "experts" rag on Herbert. Oregon's arrogant recruiting philosophy after Chip Kelly left the cupboards pretty bare for Justin's whole career, yet he still shined. Herbert's cannon of an arm was just too much for a college receiving corps made up of converted DBs and RBs. Not to mention 3 head coaches and a bunch of offensive coordinators. If you wanted to evaluate Herbert, look at Oregon when Justin went down with a broken collarbone. Herbert was on fire to start the season, then the backup is forced to come in and has games of 145 yards, 23 yards, 74 yards, 47 yards, and 31 yards. Herbie was averaging about 300 per game, even in a run-focused offense. Put Herbert on a top team with a great receiving corps, Joe Burrow wouldn't have won the Heisman. Chargers got a great one. I'm thrilled he's doing so well and that the country is waking up to what Oregon fans have known since before he even took a college snap!
Oregon fan and alum here, too. Justin was underutilized at Oregon with its run first offenses, receivers who couldn't catch his passes, and offense and quarterback coaches who were inferior. Oregon was lucky that he stayed. He loved the school and dreamed his whole life of being a Duck. Now he has the receivers and coaches that he deserves.
As a kid that was born in San Diego lived in Oregon my whole life I’m a Duck and Chargers fan all they way this is like a movie for me he is such a good guy go West Coast
Chargers all day! I’m a Oregon transplant myself. Couldn’t be happier with the pick of Herbert. I was worried at first, but he has challenged and beaten my expectations.
Philip Rivers was always talking trash. Herbert carries himself like Andrew Luck. He is a get hit get up and say "good shot boi" type of guy. He is humble asf.
@E.K. yeah so throwing an interception and then grabbing the guy by the shirt is just classy and true grit?... I will take Herb over Rivers sorry you had to disagree.
@E.K. you r preaching to the choir. You can be a jerk without cursing and Rivers was always that way. I get he is faith heavy but I have met plenty of faith heavy people who are jerks. Ya I loved Rivers when he was our QB but that doesn't change his Antics which were over the top. Seven words. Billy Volek AFC Championship Game. Super Bowl.
I agree! He’s definitely made J Herb’s gameplay much more better and he doesn’t get the credit he deserves and I’m glad somebody like you recognizes that cause I was just telling my friend about him couple days ago, excellent QB COACH and I’m glad we have him to guide J Herb
@Gotti Junior remember, Patrick is very ill...fighting an auto-immune disease. he's in a lot of pain and has memory lapses due to meds. He's having to take large doses of prednisone. which is also potentially deadly itself...I know, because I've been in that boat myself.
I’m not too knowledgeable about Dan Patrick but can someone explain the attraction of getting interviewed by him? These are supposed to be fun interviews but Dan Patrick just comes off too strong. He’s not douchey or anything I can’t pin point it but just something about how he talks / asks questions comes off not so likeable.
He’s almost the polar opposite of Rivers... Love River’s passion for the game and how he trash talks but when he gets flustered/heated, it’s downhill from there and no coming back. Herbert seems to be very chill and poised under pressure and lets his plays do the talking.
What are you talking about? Rivers has the most +14 point comeback wins in NFL history and tied with Tom Brady for the most +17 point comebacks in NFL history. I swear to God, Chargers' fans completely define Rivers based off of his 2019 performance. He has had WAY MORE successful comebacks than failing ones. No one is perfect!
To be objectively honest, as a Chargers fan, I didn't like him, thought he's way over-rated. I remember they were hyping him up the beginning of college season last year. Wow am I wrong. Now I Google him daily.
Is it just me or is Herbert the real life equivalent of sunshine from remember the Titans?(and yea I know it’s based on a real story but the analogy still stands)
I was pleased that we got this dude w/ the 6th pick...what I was wishing for was ..the last time the Chargers drafted a QB out of Oregon..was just some dude named Dan Fouts so..I was hoping for a similar profile...)...but dam Justin has just stepped right on in that starting QB spot and didnt even trip nor has he really even struggled at all...I member round draft all the "experts"were like .."Well his accuracy is not the best and blah..blah..blah...so now Im just gonna sit back and see how Justins career turns out for the next 10-12 years or so..should be lots of exciting Sundaze....couldnt be more pleased...))
Hollywood Herbert has hair standards to uphold. Sorry to hear Justin had to evacuate his home because of wild fires. Same thing happened to a lot of Oregonians. Abrupt Climate Change is in the hear and now. Many more climate change refugees in our future.
Hollywood Herb should definitely be the front runner for ROY. He's our answer for Mahomes, plus he's a humble kid. Bolts need to make sure we protect him at all cost. #boltgang #boltup
I've never seen anyone like Dan Patrick that can have a great interview one day and follow it up with a horrific interview the very next day. Totally not Justin Herbert's fault. The kid is a great player and a nice young man. A Star ⭐ in the Making!
I've been extremely excited for the team and how amazing he's been playing. But, it was just hard to believe that he was able to keep playing at such a level, week after week. Even after seeing a few of those absolutely top class throws he made (especially in the TB loss against that top rated defense). I still couldn't believe he was that good. But now you can't ignore the kind of numbers he's put up. When you're destroying every record that were put up by the best of the best. Well, that kind of stuff is impossible to turn your head at
This why under Oregon's offensive play calling, Oregon fans were so frustrated. We all could see the gifted arm that he had, its like,"Release the Kraken!".
Justin, I think you're a great new player in the NFL. I like the way the offense flows. With some improvement you'll do well. Have a good weekend. Henry is on my team bye the way lol : )
