Justin Lee’s Struggle as a Gay Man & Devout Christian 

I do not struggle with my orientation nor sexuality. I struggled with the hate and judgement, and ignorance of others towards people different than them. God loves you. He is not shocked that you're Queer. He loved you before you were born and still wants to be in your life. Ignore those who'll say love the sinner, hate the sin. It's not a sin to consensually love another person. Youre not hurting God. So dont hurt yourself believing the lies of churches that act like the Pharisees. Remember that those who crucified Christ were keepers of the laws yet they knew not the love of Christ.

The one thing I struggle with beyond comprehension is hate. I have a struggle with hating humanity as a whole. It’s almost debilitating. I would rather struggle with sexual sin (which I have completely overcome with God’s help) than my hatred for people. One of God’s greatest commandment is to love your neighbor. If I don’t love my fellow man, I’m on my way to being estranged from God. May God help me overcome this sin.

I struggle with same sex attraction. My choice is abstinence. The Scriptures are clear. I’m praying for God to change my desires to be in line with His Will. We must pick up our cross, deny ourselves, and follow Christ. It’s not easy, perhaps not really fair, but it is right and good. Thank you, Jesus ❤

Also " knowing the Bible" won't help you with anything. Knowing God is the key. It's a relationsship with God.

The mental gymnastics that people use to affirm sin is incredible. So much so that complete theological reinterpretations and philosophies have been developed to justify sin. Jesus said to carry your cross and follow him. He said, "Go and sin no more." Progressive Christianity is a perversion of Scripture and is one of the tools the enemy is using to lead, even the elect, to perdition. You cannot be Christian and be a practicing homosexual, adulterer, drunkard, thief, etc. My identity is in Jesus Christ, not sin. My love is in Christ. My cross is same-sex attraction. - A former homosexual.

We All feel Stuff that we shouldn't, in The Book of James it says" when tempted You can't say God is tempting You, We are Tempted By our own Lust, and sinful Desires, That Means We must Be willing to Say "NO" and That's not Always easy, But Giving in to it is, which is Why I Believe Jesus said Narrow is The path that leads to Life , and Broad The path too Destruction, I like Women, But I can't go out and Do anything and Everyone I want, I have too keep it in Line with What GOD wants, if I Truly want to Honor GOD , just My Opinion 😊

It should never have been and never should be "us vs them" between any two groups of people, be it straight and gay, Muslim and Christian, etc... Other humans are not ever the enemy. Its is a sin and choice

I've been in the gay lifestyle for a brief moment of time, but it was long enough to make me realize how depraved I was in my mind to desire sex. I thank God that Jesus Christ has saved me and has been rescuing me from that lifestyle through the renewing of my mind when it comes to the proper use of sex. For people who think they are "born gay", that part is totally irrelevant to your standing before God -- being born in a certain condition DOES NOT give you the license to disobey His commands just because your nature desires it. We are to crucify the desires of the flesh daily and let the Holy Spirit work in our lives to conform us into the image of God's only begotten Son.

Would highly recommend the RU-vid channel of a man called Becket Cook who identified as gay, now a born again christian. He has interviews with people just like him and wrote a book called Change of Affection. God bless.

I think all these people that are trying to control others & making those others bad & wrong are the sinners or wrong doers.Jesus said do not judge others. I’m in support of everyone being true to thereselves as long as they are not harming others. I’m so tired of these false so called Christians making othered wrong when they are & think differently. After reading Justin Lee’s book, I cannot help myself and recognizing how far this man truly went inside of his mind to protect himself so he doesn’t see that what the Bible says, and what he continually admits to in his book knowing that homosexuality is wrong… telling his story through the lens of that being gay is not a choice and no matter what comes up against him to tell him that his theology is wrong is only answered with …but I know I’m gay… claiming to be so religious and so profound, and calling himself a Christian , can this man realize his whole entire foundation now becomes the foundation of his deception. Trapped inside of his own circular reasoning what must this man do to realize that he’s wrong. Coming up against his foundation of deciding that there is no choice and that I know I’m gay philosophy is protected to death… Like Dr. Michael Brown says Jesus requires all of me no matter what my feelings are to be completely surrendered to Jesus, . But it looks like Mr. Lee put Jesus who died for him on a timer, and since he wasn’t delivered in a certain amount of time he concluded that God made him gay . Trusting in the Lord obviously was not an option. And if it was, it was on the timer. Nowhere in his book until the very end does he mention that trusting in the Lord with his problem is something that he could fall back on or refer to. Dealing with the exact same thing what this man deals with same sex attraction I understand why and how he protects himself so he doesn’t see that he had a choice. .., what a frightful thing it is to consider such a thought. But since the I’m willing to go to my death, so I don’t see that thought in my mind because of the accountability that I would be under is the reason why he is willing to go to his death to protect himself from seeing the deception ..His book is a very good book for any apologist who understands how someone can deceive himself. It should be in every apologist library like it is in mine audio and book. I battles for 25 to 30 years since I was 19 years old in this subject. But even if he had a good childhood versus one that I had that was surrounded with drugs and alcohol and one parent around , does not excuse me from what is written and the word of God. blame shifting is not going to be available to me, nor is being the victim of any circumstance from what the word of God says. . I cry for this man and hopes that one day the simplicity of understanding of what he’s deceived by will be lifted off of him this book is an excellent tool and recognizing demonic activity… being married for over 30 years to a wonderful woman and still am married my wife understands that what I trust him works because she understand my bottle in that I don’t feed it or convince myself that there is no hope because she can see Christ in me

I'm sorry to hear that you have left your first love, Christ. You were correct how you first felt, that for whatever reason, the bible teaches against homosexuality. I don't think it was a choice for me. I have always felt same sex attracted. However, I must follow what the bible says and resist that temptation. I always think to myself, why can't I have a partner. Why am I supposed to stay single for the rest of my life? I try not to ask myself those questions anymore and that is not the first question I would ask God or Jesus when I would meet them. You can't go on how you feel brother, you have to go by scripture. The scripture is TOTALLY clear. That scripture is the same today as it was when it was written. I hope that you soon return to your first love, Jesus Christ.

Someone not only living in outright rebellion to God's Word, but encouraging and teaching others to do the same is not a "devout Christian." Period.

Honestly, anyone who says, "You're a homosexual? Then you can't be Christian because that's a sin", is directly contradicting themselves, because guess what EVERY Christian is, guess what EVERY godly man and woman is, guess what every human being is. A SINNER. If you cannot be Christian because homosexuality is a sin, then you cannot be a Christian because we all have lived and will live a sinful life until death. Christ died for us sinners, and gave us a gift of Salvation. He gave us a Gift we know we don't deserve because of our sins, but His Love for us is so great, He gave us the Gift of Salvation.

I appreciate the way you feel but your feelings do not define who God made you to be. The Word defines who you are even before you were born knit together in your mothers womb. God never makes a mistake your just born into a Christ rejecting sin sick fallen world. So are you married to the same sex and living exchanging the natural for the unnatural? If you are you are far from what God declares and desires you are to be. You never mention about what God calls homosexuality in the Scriptures. Clearly the Lord says it’s unnatural. Yet you seem to never mention Gods Word on the matter. The sinfulness of your heart years ago caused you to be attracted to men. God had given you over to the degrading passions of your lost heart even to homosexuality. God made a help mate for the man in the garden because it was not good for man to be alone and He didn’t make another male for his helper He made a woman! Designed to procreate and multiply the earth both men and women with different roles entirely! So, Clearly that is an impossibility in same sex unions. Can you be Christian with same sex attractions? Depends on where you go with those attractions in your mind. When Jesus came He raised the bar in your mind that even if you think it you have done it. That is without a doubt sin in the eyes of Holy and Just God. We must stop with the labels and call it what Gods Word says it is. Sin the natural for the unnatural! Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.” So, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by Gods Word! Believe His Word it’s true it’s perfect God never makes a mistake and that includes you sir. We all including me make the mistakes when we don’t wholly trust and adopt the Scriptures for our lifestyle for living. We can’t pick and choose what we want to believe and what we don’t want to believe it’s His truth not ours but He gives it to us to adopt all of it as a lifestyle for our living. The Blood of Jesus forgives and He certainly will not leave you in your sin if your heart is to be His heart. Romans 1:26-27 (NASB) 26, For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. You cannot be a devout Christian and gay. That’s like saying I’m a devout Christian that is an adulterer or a devout Christian that’s a liar. No matter what sin we choose to commit the sin will separate us from God. We cannot have both, we have to make a choice. God or sin. It’s up to us.

So you want to be affirmed into hell? Anyone who truly has love for souls cannot do that. This life will soon be past, along with its struggles, but eternity is forever, don't trade your eternity for the temporal. No sin is worth being separated from JESUS!

When God gives you His spirit you become a new creation. There is no such thing as a gay Christian.

Please be aware and study the word of GOD! God is very clear and has defined marriage between a man and a woman. God has standard and it is Holy! He has not given any scripture to justify him celebrating sin. Please repent. With God all things are possible and to imply that God can't turn your heart around to live a holy and acceptable life is blasphemous. I don't think it is easy to turn from a life of sin be we are called to take up our cross and deny ourselves! Make no mistake the bible is clear and speaks of those who will not inherit the kingdom of God (1Cor. 6:9-20). God has a standard and if you willfully practice sin you are in rebellion toward God!

I honestly think it is important to note what scriptures say and what is does not Having sex with a man is an abomination but loving a man is not You can be in a healthy Christian non sexual homoromantic relationship But not in a homosexual relationship. Cuddling ,loving and spending time with same gender is no sin Having sex with is a sin

you are NOT gay there is no such thing as gay there is only temptation and sin by biblical definitions. we have compassion for temptation because we all are tempted. we have a blood sacrifice for sins because we are all guilty. but whe have warnings of eternal death and eternal punishment for diliberately trampling the grace of God and continuing to sin. the bible also condemns people who approve of sins a whole list including homosexual behavior.
