I agree with you! Every song does sound the same and lacks production quality and the depth lyrical wise. It lacks Timbaland's signature bounce as well. He's too late with the disco sound game because The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, etc. have already done that and right now it sounds boring and repetitive. Back then he had a great opportunity to release a disco album since Can't Stop the Feeling but he ended up releasing that weird country-like album MOTW which was a failure. I think people expect more from Justin because he's capable of making good music. But at this time he messed it up because he collaborated with the wrong songwriters and producers. (Calvin Harris, Ryan Tedder, for real??) The only song that is really good is Sanctified because Danja produced it. He still got it. (He produced My Love, Sexy Back, Summer Love...), also Flame is not bad either. In conclusion, there is no major hit in this album.
JT doen't need hits, Hes a brand yes and that's how he promotes this album... its a culmination of his carrier that's it I promise it will grow on you!!!

All of the auto tune has made artists so lazy. Lazy to the point where they don’t even try to express their range anymore and just ty to play it safe. Artists after 2010 are so boring. They literally almost all sound the same. Nothing makes them unique or stand out or make them special aside from the beat. Singers these days lack the creativity Whitney and Michael and Mariah and others did when they first came out. Back then, artists were hungry and you could hear it. Now, they’re just lazy slobs pressed out freshly from the cookie cutter.
What's quite interesting is that when Justin veered away from his sound for Man of the Woods (which I genuinely enjoyed and even went to one of his love shows this ee it), he got ripped to shreds because people said they wanted his signature sound; now that he's delivered an album full of that sound, people say he hasn't taken enough risks. I've enjoyed the album, but I was a teenager when his first album came out, so I guess I've been hooked on my nostalgia. And some of these points are a bit out of touch; the album is heavily influenced by RnB and Disco/funk, so of course, there's lots of falsetto. Not every singer can "belt", so it's odd to measure the album against. I'm not here trying to argue with anyone either, I just think some of these reviews are a bit paradoxical

So wait him singing in his range and still having a voice his your mid 40's😂😂😂 that's not how singing works.... and you can't compare women and men vocally
This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but since i have been a justin timberlake fan for about 24 years now, as well as being a music producer, songwriter myself, know what i'm talking about. You are very right about what you said. A few days/weeks ago when i heard drown and flame for example, i thought to myself: ok, these tracks are not pushing the limits of innovation, but they are awesome tracks, that remind you instantly of Justin Timberlake's old school work, and that is awesome, because it gives the older fans that signature sound while also introducing it newer fans. I then thought: the other tracks will be the ones innovating, bringing that never before heard sound signature and inspiring the music world once again. Sadly, i was wrong and disappointed. What we got instead was no energy, not high quality enough for Justin Timberlake. Songs like Memphis for example, lack so much excitement and even quality, even if the concept and idea was good. Many of these songs don't even seem like Justin was the one who came up with the way to sing them. They sound very similar to a guy or two i have seen Timbaland work with. They are very modern day songs, in the sense that they lack lyrically and have a bunch of stuff repeating, making the replay value low and even annoyingly amateurish at times. It could also be my nostalgia talking but i truly believe anyone who looks at it objectively can say that instrumentally and lyrically, these artist's new songs are way worse than the old ones. When you listen to Usher's 8701 and Confessions, Craig David's Born to do it, Eminem's Eminem show, both lyrically and instrumentally, there is a huge gap between those and their later work. We also can't forget that the producers these artists used to work with are not the same. And the ones that are the same, have a buch of other different producers, songwriters and assistants working with them, throwing ideas at them(look at Timbaland, etc) so obviously, their music will be different. When you also take into consideration that many of them plagiarized or used other artists and songs for years and put an awesome beat on top of it, so that sound was never truly theirs, you start understanding how their music is not as good as it once was. Also, i admit that the first time i heard futuresexlovesounds i hated that album. Was so disappointed. Then i realized its because the music was so different that it took some time for my brain to adapt to it. Maybe this is the case as well, although i doubt it. Having said all of this, we also have to be fair and can't expect every single album to be great or a hit. Sometimes they miss. At the end of the day, i am glad he still has some good songs and i wish him the best. Even at his worse, he is still better than most these artists we have today. I hope Justin and all the other artists i mentioned, make music until they are 80 years old because the music business and world is better with their music. I guess that's how it goes, even when it comes to the greats. Some things you can't replicate, no matter how you try. And maybe they were so good right of the bat that they set a standard that could never be met again, even by themselves.
Almost all songs in this album sound the same🎶(and are mostly about one "topic",lol😉,except "Memphis" which is like kind of autobiography📖) Plus they have very simply, not catchy melody🎶(I only hear any elctronic piano🎹in the background,lol.😅). Overall : quite boring 😔 I don`t see any of these song will became great hit🎧 such as " Mirrors"🪞,"Sexy Back" or "Cry me a river"🎶😉

I remember listening to futuresexlovesounds for the first time and hating it. I was so disappointed. As i kept listening it grew on me and became one of my favourites. I found that happens alot with albums that are so good and different (like Usher's Confessions) that our brains have to take time to adapt. Having said this: i'm not sure i will ever find this album as good as his best ones.
@@igorsenayoutube like you said you didn't expect the others to grow on you either. Only time will tell but if you're wrong again, how will you feel about? Lol knowing that you continue to make the same mistakes. People fail to realize that an album is meant to give you a variety of vibes. The artist knows even if you like 1 or 2 songs, they've done their jobs. Not every album is going to live up to prior releases.
Sounds like a demo album... Its a mess and all over the place. ZERO hits on there. The album sucked because everyone around these people these days are yes men. They will tell them what they are making is "fire" when it isn't. Then we the fans get this lacklustre shight.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you for most parts. I was kinda disappointed in general. For me, Sanctified was the only real good song. Others are okay, but not has solid as what he used to do in previous albums. Great comparation with MJ, I loved it.
I think ,fans expected something more (specially after 6 years gap😉) I don`t see any of these songs will became such great hits like "Mirror"🪞,"Sexy Back" or "Cry me a river",lol.🎶

I don't think Justin is a belter. At least not in my nonprofessional opinion. I have never heard him belt a song like Kelly Clarkson or anyone else of that caliber.
