They're just kids ppl take this out of proportion.....why should she be scared?? I can see if it was a prison but they're just regular kids who mess up in life

I have only been in a juvenile detention center one time & that was my last time! But i never even knew that they had schools there. The man told me "You have school at 6:00 am" (Or 5:00 am I can't remember) but you eat breakfast before class starts and the teachers I had were nice.
This is not my RU-vid account. I was in Bakersfield, California James G. Bowles Juvenile Hall back in 2006 it was my third time in. I did not have a 21 day stop, I was sentenced for 6+ months each time. I did graduate from high school afterwards, then I went to college where I earn an associates degree in architecture. I work for a large architectural firm and we specialize in designing schools, churches, and banks. Say what? I earned over 100 high school credits in juvenile hall, and that is one of the reasons why I am successful today. Hispanic, First Charge: 2nd degree burglary, evading and resisting arrest at the age of 13, Second charge assault with a weapon other than a fire arm and possession of paraphernalia at the age of 15, Third charge GTA and graffiti age 17. I was given a special cell next to the control station because I could not stop getting in to trouble on the ins. Talk about flip the script. When I turned 18 and my record was sealed, and I started working and studying. I knew that if i got pulled over as an adult the cops couldn't see my past record and I never wanted a record again. It was like it never happened. I am preparing a speech for the kids in this hall and at Camp Erwin Owen where I also had a luxury 6 month stay. Stay up and don't let them keep you down! They can't keep me down!
This film doesn't show half the things people go threw. We were forced to go, get up and do everything just like a normal school, no recesses n after school you go strait to the shower then back to your sell. Trust me you wouldn't want to go especially in Arizona.
@deaconsmom2000 I know you posted on this a while ago but i can tell you that I honestly learned more when I was in the classrooms at juvenile hall than i did at normal high school. I went into the Barrett program which is like a 6 month to 1 year program for drug charges and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. But anyway they do really try to teach there its just the fact that some of the kids are so disrespectful they cant even get across to the other kids that are trying.
I wish our alternative school had been this organized. I was in there for three months and didn't learn jack SHIT. We had NovelStars Credit Recovery packets to learn, but some of the subjects (specifically Geometry & Chemistry for me) were so hard that I just didn't do them. So that's three months of math I've never learned, and every time I take the ACT there's all these math questions that I have no idea how to solve because I've literally never learned it. -.-
@josiequevedo What did you think of the school if you don't mind me asking? Did you learn much or didn't you like it? Any impact on your life afterward? How can it be improved for the students?
these kids are just so lowwwwww, this is too sad, they see a smart board and i nice teacher and they think they can do so much now, which they can, but not in the way they think, they just arent in the right state of mind
That's why their getting help, most of them come from broken homes. As a juvenile detention officer, im glad this kids are receiving help, respect for that teacher/ its not easy teaching this kids!
wassup hoes sorry for late reply, but no, its not scary. you get full meals, i got fed in there better than at home. it is a really social area, you can talk to other people just like normal school. anything from people talking about their blunt rolling skills, to what new music was released in "the outs" its basically all the bad kids from school, in one room.
No class works this well, my regular school is fucking crazy with yelling and nobody paying attention. But when the superiors came in the teachers told us before hand to not act up, then everything goes back to yelling.
@1:07 into video I have to leave a comment already. what I see here is a place with less white kids then others, sad. BUT THAT BEING SAID SHE IS TEACHING THEM THE CONSTITUTION AND THEIR RIGHTS AS CITIZENS "AWESOME"
