I was wondering how much it can be submerged below the water line and how that might affect it's performance 😊
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 месяца назад
I would say having the weir (grills) covered up to around 3cm in depth is ideal for performance. But I wouldn't have the filter totally submerged. Thank you

Hi, do you still recommend this filter? I have a 260l aquarium and no option for canister filter…

Please tell me how did you put the filter with out silicone because i like to insert the same filter to my 120 L aquarium but is there any way to fix it with out silicone ?? Thanks
@elgezouliabdul4973
@elgezouliabdul4973 2 года назад
Thanks for the update you don't attached with silicone ??
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 года назад
You can attach with silicone, but I find they sit nice and snuggly against the glass with no movement, lots of biomedia weighs them down and it also means I can move then when conducting a water change, to siphon out any waste below them, keeping the tank cleaner 😊

@@AquaticElements Thanks a lot for your reply I agree but mine is small so does not hold much media . I thinks I must go for the silicone 🙂

Does the internal divider useful because I do not use heater , can I take it out so can hold more bio media ??
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 года назад
I think you still need the divider for the pump to sit in. I took out all the white plastic baskets and filled the whole thing with biomedia in mesh bags. Then one or two pieces of sponge in top

Why not put coars/medium/floss top to bottom. Than it takes longer before floss is full of dirt. You have floss on top and de medium and coars are npt gettong any dirt to capture this way...
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 года назад
Yes true, however the floss I have it so cheap I just replace it twice a week which reduces filter maintenance to once a month. I have it setup- course, medium, fine and then filter floss on my canister filter. But this filter is very quick to change the floss on so I do it this way 😊

Hi both. Interested in the comments here. I’m running a Bioflow L with the media setup as per the instructions. From bottom to top. Fine, fine, ceramic cartridge, coarse, nitrate, carbon, carbon sponge, filter floss. Is there an improved way to do this?
@alexandreblanquaert5256
@alexandreblanquaert5256 9 месяцев назад
@@trevhutchinson4196 The best filter is from top to bottom : coarse-medium-fine , eventually carbon , sponges and in the lower part only biological medias .You never begin a filter first with fine sponges , it doesn't make any sense 🙂

Any idea how to remove the divider inside ? Cheers
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 года назад
The divider between the media and the pump section should just pull right out of the slots it's in 😄

@@AquaticElements Thank you ,i thought that mine is stuck.I will have to pull a bit harder .

Hi, yes I have done this video already. On the 16th of July there's a video called "measuring the ranchu collection" thanks 😊

Absolutely ridiculous. That filter is for a smaller aquarium not a small pond. Get a pond filter
@AquaticElements
@AquaticElements 2 года назад
Not at all, the filter is just a vessel for your media of choice. These filters hold the same amount of media as a large canister filter. I had two of these filters on my 600 litre pond therefore each filter was only filtering 300 litres of water. A large canister filter on 300 litres of water is far below a manufacturers recommendation and these filters did an absolutely great job keeping my pond clean with feedings 6-8 times a day. Thanks for your feedback 😉

ermmm... not true it's all about biomassa and flow , biohome gives a full nitrification process @ 1liter(+1kilo) for about 100 liter water (normal stock) and he gets in that filter easily 8 liter (8,5/9 kilo) biohome (good for 850/900 liter tank) + equivalent at 3 liter sponges etc

I have a juwel filter on my 6ft 120G reef tank and does a good job… So ur the one who looks ridiculous now goldiel..
@goldiel4664
@goldiel4664 Год назад
@LordBonesaw having this in reef tank in your house is exceptionally different from having it outside. As you see, the media bags were already covered with algae, and that media wasn't good for external use or that setup. There's nothing about the filter itself as its use and application for external use.
