Tech in a Sec I’ve now got 120 hours on the new RS540 and I am absolutely thrilled! It’s indeed many levels above the Sony 40ES. Brightness increase was huge and the contrast and black floor is best I’ve ever experienced on a projector. Feels much more cinematic now. Much better lens and love having electric shift, zoom, and focus. The Sony had faster HDMI synch times tho. That’s the area the 40ES was better.
Test some fullhd pc material. does the E-shift give any advance specially if thinking about seating distance. and a comparison between brand new new epson 9400 model would be awsome
we will compare the two once the new Epson is out. the E-shift does add an extra level of details but its not night and day. you could see a deference when you turn it on but just cause you are doing it then and their. so not a big deference.
Tech in a Sec Im thinking about my next setup happenin in a year window as my units Are failing slowly on my dual projection setup.Jvc is what i would like to have but i don’t know, new Epson offers more lumens and those Are never bad specially when you gonna slap polarizers on the lense and glasses, its gonna eat up some of the ligh, though In a batcave i get by just fine with my Mitsubishis and they Are only 1300 rated before calibration so jvc is already a bump up. My challenge is in my next setup i have to move closer to the screen and still mainly use fullhd. Though in stereo there oviously is double the pixels but anyways i just wonder is an upscaling units good enough to make up the closer viewing travel or should i get a native 4k. One thing is shure. The jvc just lookes great on the colors. Equvalebt sxrd machines Are all suffering from small green tint to image. And isnt LCD the most fast panels to die, or Are the current gen panels much better in quality ? Also it would be great to know is the Epson clearly more bright than jvc or Are these just Numbers once again. I read some complaints about the noise of the e-shift
It depends on your budget, if money is no issue, then JVC hands down, but to benefit from the JVC it should be placed in a dedicated home theater in a light controlled rooms.
