Thank you for reply , you did bring back some good memories , was at some shopping centre and bought a huge ice box , dragged it all the back on the BTS , went to 7 eleven filled it with ice and beers , took it to the pool side and the rest is History as they say , you got to admit the Thai staff are so good so long as your having fun and don’t annoy anyone your good , few days after went to the Shangri la hotel BKK were was not staying with a few ladies and that was a struggle getting them through security to the pool side , only on promise to be on best behaviour and spend copious amounts of money were finally left alone ,

Great review...i used to stay just Soi 2 at The Majestic Grande...i always seen your hotel from my hotel.

I have been coming to Bangkok for the past 16 years and always stay in the Silom And Sathorn area near the Chao Phraya River easy to take a boat up or down the river even when bangkok is in gridlock but i have to say your room looked great ! and maybe to some people being near Nana Plaza might be a perk that is if there isnt a joiner fee at the Hotel...L.A Rob

Bangkok is good fun. I've been there several times and my experiences have run the gamut from wide-eyed wonderment to... "Do you think I fell off of the turnip truck this morning."

I am going to bangkok in two days from yvr for the first time, little scared for the weather as it states its going to be 35 and humid

Hotel will have mango when in season , there not in season November so can’t mark hotel down for that , ! As always the Staff are fantastic at the Marriott Thai hotels ,

Did I miss the pool area ,? Remember many years ago filling large ice box with many Heineken beers and sitting in the jacuzzi drinking them all day long , not sure if would get away with that nowadays, may have been a few ladies involved as well . Lol

You left out a very important bit. The rooms are only renovated up to floor 15. Renovations will resume in April 2019 for floors 16 and above. The un-renovated rooms are a dated. That is to say, you should stay on floors below 16 in 2019.

I usually am not that prying and intrusive, but since you can easily ignore my question, I guess asking won't hurt: How do you afford all that traveling? Is the revenue from the RU-vid channel enough to make this a full time job and finance the expenses, or are you independently wealthy and just doing the channel as a hobby? The former would be surprising, considering what I have heard other full time RU-vidrs with comparable subscriber numbers say about the money they are making. And most of them make videos that require way less financial investment than what you are doing. Just to explain why I am so curious: I'm German and despite the cliché of the lazy German who has a month of paid vacation time each year, I haven't been on a real vacation since I was 11 years old, which was 29 years ago. (I make decent money, but I am single and have to take care of my demented father, who spends all his money on cigarettes and other nonsense, which means I get to pay his important bills. I spent enough for 2 big vacations alone this year to buy surgery for his dog, for example.) So seeing an American, who according to cliché, never has off time and works all year round, apparently being on vacation quite often, is remarkable to me and triggers my curiosity. I admit to being jealous, but not in a mean spirited way. The main motivation for asking is really just dreams about my own situation improving one day.

Hi Chris. I’m looking to book my first ever Bangkok trip with my friend in July 2024. I’ve been looking at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. I can get the stay covered with Bonvoy Poinfs. Is located at Sukhumvit Soi 22. Is that a good area to stay? Easy to get around other attractions and night life in Bangkok? Thanks for your time buddy, be safe.
