I just back from a short holiday from Hanoi staying with JW Marriott Hanoi and I really have to share this extraordinary experience with everyone.
As an Expedia +Gold member, I got a free upgrade and late checkout. And the hotel did treat us like VIPs. Once we tried to check-in at the front desk, the receptionist brought us to the Executive Lounge to check in there then brought us to the spacious Executive Lakeview Suite.
The Suite is very spacious with a separate living room and bedroom facing the lake. It is one of the biggest suites we have ever stayed in a city hotel. Big walk-in closet, guest toilet, 3 TVs one in the living room, one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom facing the oversize bathtub, Illy coffee machines, Aromatherapy Associates amenities, rain shower plus 3 levels shower jet on the wall, DreamMaster mattress and Executive lounge access with complimentary breakfast, midday snack, afternoon tea, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails. Nothing is missing for a wonderful 5-star experience.
The hotel is very big with 6 F&B outlets, a huge Executive lounge, and a fitness centre. The swimming pool is a highlight of JW Marriott Hanoi. It's located on the top floor of the building sticking out from the main building overlooking the whole skylight of Hanoi. The building itself is a masterpiece that looks like a space station.
What’s make a 5-star hotel outstanding from other hotels is not only the property itself but more importantly are the service. Staff in JW Marriott Hanoi are outstanding. Every single staff is super friendly and helpful. The gym attendant Michael was very attentive. He gave us towels and water when we were swimming, then gave us cold water when he saw us going to enjoy the sauna afterwards. All staff in the executive lounge made us feel special and important. All staff in JW Cafe took very good care of us. No wonder JW Cafe is the no.1 restaurant on TripAdvisor. The buffet offers a high variety and good quality food. Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and Western food. Delicious and yummy. Highly Recommend.
JW Marriott is about half an hour away from the old town. People may hesitate because of that and stay in hotels closer to the old town. Trust me, hotels there are very small and overpriced. It is totally worth traveling a bit longer to enjoy a true 5 star VIP experience.
Once again, special thanks to Minh, Tu and their team who took care of us so well. We had a great time and hope can come back soon.

Nice but It looks cold. Doesn't have a spirit; it likes a "luxury" business hotel. In hanoi, you have Sofitel metropole legend which is much much better: french colonial atmosphere and elegant design. Way better than this Marriott.

I would say they are in different style. If Sofitel upgrades their rooms. Then I would say it could be better.

@@affordableluxurytravelchannel metropole got two 'style' of rooms, one is contemporary in the opera wing and the other is in the historical wing which are smaller but have quaint and colonial feel. Whereas Marriott rooms are modern and are similar to a Pullman or a Park Hyatt; nice but "empty" feel.

@@andreandree4384 I believe you love classic hotels. Check out my video of Park Hyatt Siem Reap and Vienna. I am sure you will love them. :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NxSgp1FalQM.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WXtC9R4LEFQ.html

@@affordableluxurytravelchannel Thks. Classic, i believe so :).. Park Hyatt SIEM reap is definitely nice, the pool area is beautiful. In Classic style, i do like raffles hotel Singapore as well. The Marriott Hanoi building looks like a spacecraft to me and is more suitable for a business event or functions.

@@andreandree4384 totally agree with you. Marriott Hanoi is a business hotel.
