These videos you did are fantastic, but what would be REALLY great is if you could do a baseline fixed variable....a bone stock vehicle with HID projectors, and a bone stock car equipped with LED headlights, like an Acura MDX. This would put the numbers in perspective. Great channel, keep it up.
Thanks for an excellent review. I bought some 8700 Evo J2 lights for my Australian TJ - they are plug and play with DUAL BURN but I did have to connect little park light cable into the blue cable on the JWS to light the half halo. Easy fit and so bright.
Hey guys, just got the Evo J installed on my JK, and damn if these aren't the coolest lights on the market! Thx HR for this vid, helped me decide which lights to put on (no brainer since Evo J use no harness!!)
Yep, we love these lights! Correct, the warranty just switched as the new year started. As of January 1st, 2017 the warranty on these lights will be 5 years.
On your 7" LED comparison; I would like to see the color temps of these as more studies are showing temperature of the color is more important than Lux in what our eye's can see.
Just reporting what I have read; Do you have the color temps on your top 7", some manufactures disclose others do not ( at least I can't find them). Is there a test tool for that, like for the Lux test?
I got those for my Jeep JL so far I’m please about it...Sadly didn’t see this video before to educate my self what to buy, now the only thing that bother me is that this new 8700 generation still 7’ round which is much smaller from the original 9’ headlights from the new Jeep Wranglers JL...I still need to buy the adapters kit in order to be installed.
I find it funny that you will mock the cheap lights over the blue in the beam but don't even mention it for the JW Speaker and you can clearly see that it is there. As well, the JW Speaker lights are over rated. I tried a set on my H2 and went back to my OEM lights since the light output was crap! And yes they were genuine JW Speaker Lights that I purchased from a local JW Speaker Dealer, I was definitely not impressed. I am actually running a set of the Nolden LED lights on an H1 now and they blow the doors off the JW Speaker for clarity. Just my experience. I guess everything really comes down to a matter of preference. The next set I plan to try will be the KC Gravity Headlights those look amazing!
hai , can you please make a comparison video of the jw speakers 8700 evo 2 and the 8790 adaptive lens ,specially of their high beam output on the road , thank you
Yes, this 8700 Evolution 2 would work in a motorcycle. They get used on them quite a bit. Same with the Vision X Vortex LED headlight, those get used a lot on motorcycles too. Most all 7" round headlights would work on that size of motorcycle bucket. But as always, before purchasing give your bike's headlight bucket depth a measure to make sure the headlight you're looking at will work, and make sure to compare the connectors. Some motorcycles will need an adapter.
When aiming this, how far out should I have the hotspot spanning? This video looks like you let it stretch about 60-70 yards or so. I'm not sure, but that seems like it'd be set kind of high and bothering oncoming drivers, no? This is on a motorcycle.

Although not all of our products are from the United States, we do the testing on a bunch of different products to wein out the bad products, that way you dont have to go to all that trouble of testing different products to find one that works for your applicaiton!
@@HeadlightRevolution I was referring to J .W Speaker. I checked out their taillights on RU-vid as well, and they are pretty good too...I plan on purchasing both.
JW Speaker is a great manufacturer, they make some very quality products! When you are ready to get some of thoes on order, let us know and we will be happy to help! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
It is kind of a pain to do this install. We do offer this service for $100 per headlight, just for the install, halo is extra. Yes it does void your warranty, but it is striking once you get them in.
+Lester Jan Pearson It does not have an option to add a halo. An aftermarket one could be added, but it would involve taking apart the light and messing with the warranty.
I dunno...this video gave me more the impression of a JW Speaker commercial than an objective test. I have JW Speaker headlights in a classic car, 4 model 8300s (I think). Admittedly they are an older model, but I have to say I have found their performance to be mediocre. They look cool, and have a very intense white light. The problem, is that the beams are so well controlled that there is no "bleed off" illuminating peripheral areas as you drive. You can see well where the beams shine, but the other areas remain black. It is particularly a problem driving through rural areas where animals like deer crossing the road are a problem. There is no beam coverage off the sides of the road to see on-coming animals that might be preparing to cross. The effect is one of driving while looking through a tube. Perhaps the newer headlights have addressed this problem, I cannot say.
+J Lee J.W. Speaker does make a different versions for left hand and right hand traffic. We only sell the right hand traffic headlights, but the left hand traffic headlights can be found here: www.mobilecentre.co.uk/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=8700&x=0&y=0
Headlight Revolution i am looking to purchase the best 7" L.E.D. plug & play. D.O.T. approved headlamp conversation kit for my 2004 Jeep Liberty sport What do you suggest ? Thanks in advance !
Headlight revolution always talk about how bad the build quality is on chinese and how good those branded are like jw speaker trucklights and so on. But not one single time have they ever taken a lamp apart to show the internals. Would be fun to know what is hidden inside and to see if it is that much differences. Give it a year or two and the cheap ones will proberly be as good. 800 bucks for a pair of evolution 8700 j2 is ridiculous. I saw a chinese knock of kit with two head lights, 2 fog lights and the middle break light for 74 dollar. I do not care how good or bad they are but the thing is that they can manufacture and sell 5 lamps for 1/10 of the price that 2 jw speaker cost. Proberly this set is not as good as the jw speaker are but it still does not make sense when jw speaker want 800 dollars. I also heard from a seller that the new jw speaker 8700 evolution J3 will cost about 1600 dollar! wtf! are they nuts? By the way, the chinese shit looked as good on the pictures on e-bay as the jw speaker, as a matter of fact the aluminium casting on the back looked better made than jw speakers version. Of course, pictures does not say anything about the light they will produce but again, 74 dollars for 5 lamps and they look more or less the same and are also made of alumunium houses and poly carbonate lenses. those branded led lights are so over priced it just make me sick. by the way, i´m not a fan of china or chines products at all, as a matter of fact I do not like china at all and think the world would be better with out them. But company like jw speaker and ther rivals are just to money horny. My bet is that the production cost of a pair of 8700 evolution J2 head lights are less than 15 dollar.
You say that, but as someone that's bought and seen others buy Chinese knockoffs versus real good quality ones, there's a bigger difference than you think. The quality of the electrical components and LED drivers will last longer, the left chips themselves with have better phosphors and are usually run at a lesser capacity than cheap ones that are often overrun and burn out the chips within a year. The knockoffs also usually have terrible heat control and let the internal components and LED chip absolutely bake. And, if you've watched some of this guys videos on the trucklite knockoffs, they look similar but their beam pattern is horrendous because they didn't do proper reflector design for the led chip arrangement. Not to mention illegal because of no DOT compliance. Trust me, you get what you pay for. Always. Just do your research first, so that you're not accidentally giving it to a swindler.
I have a 17 JK, from some research if I wanted to upgrade to these I would not be able to due to the fact of the factory led headlights that came with the JK. Does anyone know of any headlight I can get that's an upgrade from factory led headlights? I have JW Speakers Tail Lights, so I would like to match the front lights if possible.
We haven't run into this yet, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to change them out though. Looks like a standard H13 connector, we could make that happen.
Got these last year, still perfect. Great in our terribly harsh Canadian winters, so no worries about performance. They are perfect. Expensive, but perfect. Support quality people, vote with your wallets. Fuck china made bs ;)
