I am descendant of the old Austrian Empire, from it's slav part, where people mixed and lived: multicultural, multilingual and, for the era, with a good standard of life, much better than the close by Italy as many italians immigrated for job opportunities and for a better standard of life, of course, as my grand father (from Venice), who built a family with an austrian (from Gorizia) wife and four sons, one of them my father, born in Trieste in 1912. From my mother side, they were imperial citizens, austrian, slovenians, croats and, living in a multilingual ambient, polyglottes proficient in the languanges of the territory (croat, slovenian, italian, and the common lingua franca, the dialect from Venice's centuries old influence).
