Yes, I love to use mine lap stand with my Handy Clap roller frame. Their side bars have a hole in the middle just remove the clamp and put the screw through the hole in the side bar to attach your roller frame.
I found mine at a garage sale since was super cheap..but it’s my favorite now though I have others..use it with hoop or a snaps..definitely recommend it!
Elan is still Making the table etc stands. I just bought one from their website. Thru do not reply to emails / texts. However, I got an answer from them after I ordered my table frame with my Order number. Their table frame is $129.00
Thanks for the video! Very helpful tips. I did get one and love it, but had a problem with the strong stain smell -- my issue not theirs as I am sensitive to smells since chemo. So I am waiting for it to "de-smell" Air out, etc. Did yours have a strong stain odor in the beginning? In the mean time I bought an unstained regular frame and I LOVE IT! its for bigger frames.
I didn’t notice a smell but I do know my mother was also sensitive to smells after chemo for some time. The stain smell should disappear I would imagine. You also could lightly sand the stain off. It’s a wonderful stand. Where I bought mine they will sell unstained at special request, but that won’t help you now. Hopefully airing will do it for you.
Is this working for left handed, is the "z" going In the opposite direction. And I expérience the samething with the Elan, I text and called and never got an answer.
It is very stable. The clamp is very good. A second arm wouldn’t seem to work on a lap stand I think as you need to slide a hand under the work. As a table stand you could put your hand in the center but on your lap close to the body you go more toward the side to gain access underneath. It’s perfect. I LOVE it.
I put my Qsnap right in after I got my stand yesterday. It fit nice and snug, I also had some extra material so I had to sort of wedge it into the clap but it held nicely.
So is this stand for tables only?? I wish it had one more arm for more height adjustment. That is the only thing that seems like would make it a good lap stand, so you can hold your head level.
It supports the back of the clamp to make the clamp hold tighter. Without the screw I think the clamp makes too much of a V and the frame isn’t clamped as well.
It is not the baby. It’s the next one up. The z-frame. The baby, or petite, has a straight arm and the two z-frames have two piece arms (like a z). There is a large and small z-frame. This is the smaller of the two. Hope that helps.
@@anniebilodeau6374 ok, I looked it up. The petite s the straight arm, the baby z-frame holds up to a 13” frame, and the regular z-frame (this one) holds up to a 22” long frame. I had it wrong, this isn’t the middle one but the larger z-frame. Very sturdy and I’m very happy with it. Comfortable to use a well.
You need to make sure the clamps are horizontal (not in a V shape). That is what the back/underside screw is for, holding the back part of the clamps apart. If its being tightened in a V it won’t be tight enough.
