Buakaw underestimated this dude. in the first round Buakaw had the smug look of a playful bully, and ha almost got put down because of it. The second round he came out with the eye of the tiger, compact guard, chin tucked and the look of a seasoned pro. Amazing comeback from an amazing fighter. Had these two fought again Dida would not make it out of the first round. Not to take anything away from Dida, he did his best and almost took down the greatest k-1 fighter ever.
the most amazing thing in this fight was in the first round - how Buakaw manged to survive so many punches after the knokdown and to keep his confidence! that makes him great fighter! Respect!
The rest of the fight is admirable! Buakaw worked like a tireless machine, never stopped moving, hitting, working his pray, cause ever since the second round started, Dida wasn't a opponent in Buakaw's mind anymore, he was the guy that dared to knock him down, thus his pray! Wonderful! Splendid!

buakaw might beware that dida got strong punch in the begining of the fight. After he learn from that punch I have to say buakaw is very good that he can change strategy and win the fight Thanks for post xD
bukaw he is a super fighter, i think there are not many fighters who can overcome such big blows that bukaw has gotten in the first round. LONG LIVE BUKAW
Ok... the first round was simply surreal! Not only Dida shocked all of us knocking down Buakaw, but what Buakaw did in the process and afterwards is just out of this world! How the hell did he remained standing in the second wave of assaults, I can only think of high level of specialised training, lots of experience and spirit! Other than that, I can't find any explanation, I mean, the man took at least 5 KO material punches on the chin!!!
it's a Buddhist Martial Art...that's why the Thai Fighters respect one another before, during, & after every Fight...there's always a prayer & dance in "REAL" Muay Thai... foreigners that practice this style are good but most forget the true meaning of Muay Thai...it's a shame... "679"
Talon, how is he not the same? He was shocked by the beginners (MAX) strength, but obviously came back and dominated the rest of the fight. Also, remember these arnt thai rules, so you cant predict that Yod would beat him, we havnt seen Buakaw thai elbows in a long time. Personally, I think Buakaw is a more well rounded thai fighter. Yod has more power in the kicks and hands, but buakaw has faster kicks, better knees and elbows. Yod is my fav thai fighter tho, no doubt it would be a war
It almost looked like Buakaw was pissed at himself after the knockdown, & kept his hands down as if to say " that was lucky... you can't knock me out, though." I think all the body shots were very deliberate for the next three rounds. He wanted to torture him.
Wow... its like the officials punished Dida for not giving a good fight after his first round by having him endure another beating. At least he now knows what he has to do to take it beyond Buakaw.
In thai there are muaythai fighter that stronger than "Buakaw Por Pramuk". Muaythai in Thai there are 5 round.And can use elbow. ผมแค่บอกให้ฝรั่งมันรู้ว่าเจ๋งๆกว่านี้มีอีกเยอะ!!! ให้มันลองมาดูเอง
good fight :D 1 of buakaws weakness are the punches income like this dude and masato... buakaw put up a good strategy to come close combat and knee him or long distance and kicks good fight!!
It's because buakaw has got a 10 sec.count down. It has more points than any low kicks or upper-cuts or what ever..If buakaw also put him down for at least once there wouldnt be an extra round.Those are the rules,i assume u dont know but now you do ;)
@nungism i understand that trust me. I just think it's amazing is all. I've studied a little bit of muay thai (Not a lot) and various other martial arts. But I'm not a sport fighter by any means. I love to watch them though.
lol dida fights so MMA. first round he goes crazy on Buakaw without pacing himself (cuz in mma u dont get the luxury of pacing urself with the takedowns) and burns himself out for the rest of the match. By the third round Buakaw was still good but Dida already looked exhausted. that shows how different the two sports really are (including the stand up portion of MMA)
@44rumblefish That day he got caught. Not because of lack of skill, but because he was just a little bit sloppy. His corner yelled at him and i do think that the humility the nak muay learn through culture and fighting, and fighting, and fighting for their daily bread is what makes them the most respected fighters on the planet. This i think is what made it possible for Buakaw to come back in such a dominating way.
seriously, people dont understand why BK kicks the shiet out of his opponents whether they land or not, the point is that even if they blocked the kicks, their arms are gonna be aching, and especially his leg chops
I don't think Dida is only exhausted. I am sure he hurts all over, those knees by Buakaw produce quite heavy sound and I am sure they hurt liek hell. But anyway Buakaw's head was smashed in the first round and he still managed to recover in a one break time, so Dida really has no excuse for standing there like a training dummy.
yeah he dodged a bullet, if dida had a strong jab and was more accurate with his shots after the knockdown it coulda been over early... though once buakaw gets going it's like trying to stand in front of a bulldozer.
@nungism Boxing used to have more fights, and longer fights. Look at some older boxers who had well over 100 fights- a 15 round, hard fought boxing match is much more gruelling than 3 rounds of almost anything.
