Today, you sell Mikan.
What are they?
They are ordinary grown Mikan.
These are specially grown Mikan, which we call ‘Multi Cultivation’
We lay white sheeting on the ground under trees.
By doing so, we can control moisture
and make our Mikan more sweetened by the reflected light of the sun.
What do you particularly care about growing the special Mikan?
Laying sheeting itself is
different from ordinary grown Mikan.
And it takes time and effort to do it.
Covered ground by sheeting can prevent weeds from growing
and Mikan can be grown without chemical herbicides.
Do you have any other fruits besides Mikan?
We grow only citrus fruits.
We will harvest four kinds of citrus fruits this month.
Then, ‘Dekopon’ citrus fruits,
‘House Setoka’ citrus fruits,
‘Kara Mandarin’
and ‘Amanatsu’ citrus fruits
will be harvested one after another.
So, you harvest citrus fruits all year round?
Yes, that’s right.

I am a leather craftswoman,
called Yocco.
I make leather crafts
by using deer skins hunted in Kozagawa town.
Do you buy skins from Yama no Hikari Kobo?
I buy them from Yama no Hikari Kobo
and make leather crafts.
I visited them two or three years ago.
Since deer is wild,
the leather has some stains and damages.
I leave them as they are
and make the most of them.
I have one of your product.
It is comfortable to use.

Today, we sell Sweet Potato Yokan (Japanese style jelly)
and Mame Daifuku (soft rice cake with beans)
as a special autumn item.
Several years ago,
for people having a food allergic reaction,
we hold a baking class.
They taught us
how to make Sweet Potato Yokan
and Nerikiri
(a cake made of white butter bean paste which is beautifully coloured and shaped)
Thank you for all your help at that time.
Participants enjoyed it very much.
Because we didn’t use any cream or other dairy products,
I wondered how the sweets tasted like.
Participants loved the sweets.
