Missha's artemisia line has been renewed! The whole line was re-packaged and I tested the new essence, as it's my holy grail, and the new version is quite identical! Still soothing and hydrating but just in new packang!

I am becoming quite addicted to K beauty products. I love the availability of gentle, yet effective, ingredients. They give a relief from the active ingredients driven western market that can often be too harsh. And it's never too early, or late, for Halloween. It's the bestest holiday!! 🎃 I love these videos, so helpful! Thank you! ❤️

I absolutely LOVE the Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence!! It was the very first artemisia product and K beauty product I ever tried. Which has actually set me up for let down after let down because every artemisia product I have tried since has not held a candle to it.
I believe that!! It’s been more on the end of my own artemisia journey (if not the end, as I struggle to imagine I’ll find a better product! 👀) Going in reverse would indeed be disappointing 😅
Alice hi! I love the Tony Moly rice mask!! Haven’t tried the cleanser. I’m glad Missha didn't change this essence! I love it! but I don’t understand why they renewed the packaging.. old is gold!
I really like Missha products. Their essence sunscreen 45 pa +++ (white & pink bottle) has been my hg for about 4 years. I get their products on Amazon.
Okay there was a video with a comment from someone talking about the brand babyface. I can not find what video lol I was binge watching last night. BUT anyway so I looked up the brand this morning and omg it sounds so good and I’m super interested in it. I have plenty of my stuff now so not personally trying their stuff yet. But like I said it seems to sound so so good and the prices look pretty good too! Missha discontinued my favourite cica cream, Madecanol, I was so gutted that I didn’t re-stock it! Why do they need to keep reformulating amazing products?! I am however curious about the new Missha artemisia essence so I ordered it a few weeks ago and in true Stylevana fashion, I’m sure there will be a newer version by the time my package arrives 😂

My childhood school friend played the voice of the cat in the first one, but won't be in the sequel. My best friend MUST watch Hocus Pocus every Fall, so I am keeping my Disney + subscription just for this release.
I’ve noticed iHerb also does the occasional 20% off in addition to their prices, which is pretty darn great! 😱😱 Binx!! That’s so rad!! Haha yeah, it’s the Halloween tradition for me too. Not into the more gorey stuff (at all lol), but I get excited about rewatching Hocus Pocus every single year
@@onednp I love 💕 that Honey 🍯 mask. I was too cheap to pay $40 for the big jar when I wasn't sure if I would like it. At IHerb, you can get the 1oz travel/trial tubes for like $5. I think it is cheaper than buying the full size jar. Now that I have tried the I'm From Honey mask, I get the hype. That stuff is good 👍. I now also have the I'm From Honey cream but I haven't yet tried it. Still eyeing the Honey serum.
The honey serum is kind of like if you took the mask, made it a bit lighter (but not much), and put it in serum form. I had a very strange journey with it personally: I really, REALLY liked it initially…by the end of the bottle, I was feeling a bit more neutral. I think I prefer that texture in the mask personally (which is still a favorite for me!)
I just received the rovectin forever youth serum, it's been really nice in my routine. I had been using the missha time revolution 5x serum, but missha isn't cruelty free. But they seemed similar ingredients, I think rovectin is better though. Their cleanser is fabulous. I also bought the neogen real ferment essence after watching all the comparisons to SKII, Another swap out for the missha time revolution 5x essence , which I didn't think did anything. But I am enjoying the neogen. I had a sample prior. Really impressed with it. I've also been trying the heimish all clean vitamin cream, and the watermelon hydration gel cream. I love the vitamin cream, I've already notice hyper pigmentation fading on my forehead. It's such a beautiful product. 👌 🐝
Rovectin really is such a lovely brand all the way around! I’m excited to hear you’re enjoying the Neogen. I cannot WAIT to start using it, but I’m determined to get through the Manyo galacto niacin first (give it a proper testing period basically!)

Alice in the video you did for Devices for skincare, you asked me if I use actives, I stated I have lost some volume and that I use Avene Retinal, Glow Recipe PHA & bHA PORE-TIGHT TONER and I have Medicube zero pore pad 2.0.

RU-vid doesn’t always notify me of replies 😭 In terms of volume, technically speaking there isn’t really a topical that restores that (as this can involve fat loss), BUT there are ingredients that can assist with increasing collagen/elastin production. Your retinoid would be the most powerful here, so absolutely stick with that, and devices may assist with this as well. I’d say red/IR LED has the most evidence backing it, even though I personally haven’t seen it (unable to say if this is because I’m still in my 30s and wouldn’t see that yet or if my observations suggest home devices aren’t quite as powerful).
missha's artemisia and red algae lines are easily the best ive ever tried, missha is always so on top of their textures and dont sacrifice any efficacy
i will also say if they dont discontinue it as well, the artemisia ampoule is also amazing, it has some additional humectants and niacinamide and overall is a very soothing, barrier strengthening formula
@@AliceintheRabbitHole i will say its not the most hydrating, although it is fairly hydrating and absorbs extremely quickly, but i find that its nice in that aspect to layer under a more hydrating serum and it amplifies the soothing/anti-inflammatory aspects

@@AliceintheRabbitHole if that's the case then i'd say the red algae essence from them is a must try!! it has such a nice glide and is a little viscous but also absorbs really well!! i'm oily and acne prone and its super hydrating and layerable, but was one of the first products i used that i saw made a real difference in my skin
Glad you like the Missha essence, and as someone else mentioned its just being repackaged (it seems it hasn't been changed, but to your point often Missha does at least slightly tweak its formulations regularly as they seem to do with their other first essence on an almost semi-annual basis). There's also a spray bottle version of the product. I have one odd question regarding the product's shelf life. I've seen with AmorePacific special editions of their essence claiming they ferment their green tea for 1000 days vs. their standard time. Now I know the longer you ferment an ingredient the grosser.... I mean more efficacious... it may be. That said I assume once inserted into an extract with ingredients like preservatives the aging stops being beneficial. Is there any reason to believe older products might be beneficial vs. a newly packaged one?
Tbh it’s a tricky situation! There MAY be added benefits from allowing the fermentation to progress longer. At the same time, the benefits may be comparable in shorter periods. This is the kind of thing the company would need to examine; I do trust amorepacific to do that, but at the same time, longer fermentation may have benefits and yet result in overall negligible added affect on the skin (I’m trying to think of a good example to explain this - maybe how you can keep layering moisturizer, which technically might reduce TEWL a bit further, but it has a limit) As far as letting products sit longer, there would not be added benefits as the fermentation process ends prior to the product being bottled. @@AliceintheRabbitHole Makes perfect sense and I think you're generally pointing to value proposition just from an efficacy vs. economic perspective. If a $10 product offers me 95% of the results of a $150 product, all other things being equal most people are better off going with the $10 product. Similarly speaking if a 90-day fermentation offers 95% of the results compared to a 1000-day fermentation, the juice isn't really worth the squeeze given how much cost would need to be passed along to the customers. As far as the example I gave, Amorepacific does a 100-day fermented essence for $170 and charges $360 for the 1000-day version. TBH I won't even pay retail for the 100-day essence (though I'm working through my massive backlog from their sample day sale where you could get the equivalent of a full size plus a ton of other stuff including full size cleansers for about $40 and will enjoy it while it lasts). I can't imagine the 1000-day essence does much more and its well beyond my budget for what I consider a supplemental product that isn't intended to do a fraction of the heavy lifting a basic retinal or tret product does.
I found the farmstay eye cream and a few of their products at Marshals and the Missha artemisia essence mist the regular essence and the the serum and I think the night serum, I have the mist version I got it like 6 months ago and rarely use it. Jumiso has another snail cream I was on Amazon just checking the home page and it's the snail barrier serum I heard it was nice it was like 9.99 on sale I think. Pool I want to know about the SF skin tint I'm super interested in it but I have to say I'm loving the 14$ neutragea sensitive skin serum it's so good and lightweight and just lightly perfects the skin so nice but intrigued by the SF one.
I bought that Neutrogena one too! Whew I feel like I went a whole month not buying much, but this week? That went out the window 🤣 but yep I found it at CVS and remembered you said it’s great! Can’t wait to try it!!

I use a few drops and a damp sponge to apply it , I have been using the Catrice fresh it up primer with it and the Saie concealer with a dot of the Kosas on my undereyes that is my base products I have been using O I tap alittle of the Becca under eye brightener over the top of the concealer for a highlight type effect and a few dots of the CT flawless filter on the upper cheek bones as a light highlight . O I tap alittle of the number 7 lift and luminate under the eyes to set. I been loving that set of products lately.
Hey Alice! I really hope u try tretinoin one day. I saw you saying that using tret might curb your ability to test products. But i feel a lot of us who watch you, know about tret and definitely have tried or want to try it. Tips from you could be so so helpful.
@@AliceintheRabbitHole i use tret as a morning mask. I wake up, wash my face and put on tret. Meanwhile i have my tea, watch your videos, and walk for a bit. I wash it off after about 3 4 hrs. It works better for me. Using it overnight gave me very few opportunities to deal with the dryness. Now i can do my skincare twice, once in the afternoon, once at night. I get little to no drying.
When u use the powder exfoliating powder use it in the hot shower to help the enzymes work or over a bowl of how water with a towel over ur head or of course a steamer. I need to order another microexfoilant I love the dermalogica one I only have alittle of the isssntree mugwart didn't like as much as derma but I was thinking maybe wishtrend greentea or another one but idk what to pick. Are u getting the new issntree haha oil balm ? I don't know why I'm asking lol I should no the anwser
Have you tried the APRILSKIN Artemisia Rice Toner? I've been wondering about that one. Omg such a blast from the past with the Noni juice haha! I'm 37 and my dad was obsessed with that stuff back in the day. He claimed he never got sick because of Noni. He reminded me of the dad from My Big Fat Greek Wedding who thought Windex took care of everything....for my dad it was Noni 🤣 And I'm sooooo excited for Hocus Pocus 2!!!!
Yep!! That is in one of my empties videos - I did enjoy it, but I saw it as a hydrating product first and foremost. Great for that, didn’t seem to do much for redness in my experience. Hahaha I’m so glad you relate. In my family, it was my uncle! 🤣
I really like the Pestlo serum too!! I have been shooppppppiiing like crazy this past 2 weeks but I am interested to try the Missha artemesia. I just now got a bday gift in the form of $$ from my MIL and I am torn between getting a LOT of things or going after the SKII Costco deal. At 11 oz it seems like it would last FOREVER. SO Tony Moly, the only product I've used is the retinol eye cream and you know it has my heart. I find it really effective.
Oooh that’s a tough call. I know it’s Costco and their thing is GIANT everything, but 11 oz sounds like so much indeed. And yet that darn essence is sooooo effective 😭
I love the blue (glass?) packaging on the Pyunkang Yul toner but I am surprised by how short the ingredients list is. I don't know if it's better to get something that has a few more ingredients, to get a better bang for your buck type feel, but then again it's so affordable! There's a balance to find, but wow I'm surprised by how much packaging affects what I want/buy. I adore the skin1004 and Indie Lee glass packaging, and I will forever rebuy them. I would love to know what other brands have that luxe kind of packaging that you think are worth trying!
You just named some of my favorite packaging haha! I like short ingredients, especially with inexpensive products. It’s concise, it’s to the point, I know what I’m getting without extra fluff. However! When it comes to pricey products, I expect brands to have done the leg work in figuring out more complex formulas. Doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be “IT cosmetics long” (definitely a thing haha), but I expect more than just a niacinamide or hyaluronic acid serum for $40+. I want a multi tasker, and anticipate that’s what I’m paying for At the end of the day, it’s all personal preference, but that’s my logic on my preference for length of INCIs!
I have loved the Im From mugwort essence but now i definitely want to try the Missha essence. Is there any consistency differences? Missha is really better? It is individual i know 😅😅😅
Personally, yes I’m enjoying the Missha more! Although take that with a grain of salt (or a grain of…mugwort? Sorry terrible dad joke sheesh 🤣) - I actually preferred the I’m From Mugwort mask to the essence!

Gotcha, if and when you’re ready, keep in mind that your general care practitioner may also be able to prescribe it! I always suggest trying that before paying (often out of pocket) for a dermatology appt. Just something to consider 💕
Missha……. 😤… they also reformulated my favorite sunscreen and added an insane amount of fragrance. I didn’t know that and ordered a bunch. It broke me out so bad, I was literally crying the other day:( Took me a year to clear my skin and I look like a monster again… so here I am, complaining to the internet LOL
Oh no!! I had wrongly blamed the Missha Artemisia Essence for a horrific bout of fungal acne during lockdown. I think I threw it away and cursed at it. Then while going thru a skincare declutter, I realized I had Secret Key Snail Mucin Serum expiring at the end of the year. I was just finishing off a bottle of Cosrx Snail Mucin, so I figured I would use the Secret Key next. WHOOPS!!! I owe a huge apology to Missha Artemisia!! The Secret Key Snail serum had Mushroom as a top ingredient and it made my skin go nuts. I had blamed the wrong product. Now I guess I likely won't get a chance to repurchase the Missha. I had heard so many great things about it too from other RU-vidrs. Dr Dray and Kelly Driscoll LOVE the Missha Artemisia Essence too.
I really enjoy the Tonymoly rice cleanser & the missha artemisia essence. I particularly enjoy the scent of the artemisia, maybe a little silly but I feel the scent during application starts my day off right, maybe like a coffee lover enjoys the aroma during brewing. 😊 has anyone tried serumkind? (I'm interested in the purple cabbage and the youth & glow) I feel like reviews are limited
I had the Tony Moly on my Ulta wish list but haven’t bought because of being overstashed on cleansers - looking forward to your more in-depth thoughts. It is not too early to start getting ready for Halloween. We are already laying out ideas for the daily sacrifice remnants for the conjuring circle in the front lawn (we go for the creepy vibe).

Detailing your research and personal experience with diet, time of the month, supplements etc etc Like have you tried DIM supplements? Does exercise and diet affect your acne? What do u do when your acne starts appearing? I have figured out a lot of things in regards to skincare but not my acne🤣🤣 As a kid i thought it'll go away after 21 22.... But at 23 i still get acne...
So sorry I haven’t tried that product! I do know a lot of people are very loyal to NIOD though, so I suspect there’s a good reason for that 👀 Ah that’s a great idea. It would be something like “what it’s been like to live with acne for a decade” 😭 - so yuppp feel you there! The best thing I’ve done, hands down, is adapalene. I do still experience some breakouts, particularly at one time in the month (go figure), but it’s at a manageable level that I absolutely did not have a few years ago!
Personally I like L-AA early on in my routine. Because L-AA serums tend to be watery, they often lend themselves to absorbing quickly in a routine, which can mean it makes sense before an essence! That said, I’m actually not using L-AA at the moment and flipped back to vitamin c derivatives (because they’re easier to use 🤐). With these textures, I tend to use them after essence and within the true serum step Hope that helps!
have you tried the wishtrend green tea enzyme cleanser? how does the tonymoly i’m from rice cleanser compare to it? does it clump up at all? i’ve heard the good molecules enzyme cleanser clumps up.
Yes! The By Wishtrend one is incredible, and tbh it does seem quite similar to the tonymoly. Yes I agree, the Good Molecules powder cleanser is actually the only product from them that I didn’t really like.
Too early for Halloween decorations? Is that even a thing? I had a friend once who would celebrate various holidays whenever she felt like it. I loved her.. definitely my kind of friend!
