I don't know how many times I've watched this reaction, but it never gets stale. I am convinced that k.d. is the greatest female singer ever. There are many great female singers, but she exists on another plane. Control, power, diction, range, timbre, phrasing, flexibility, artistry-she has it all, and she knows how to pick her songs, something many artists with great voices don't do.

Here is a treat for you and one of kd's best songs ever, a cover of a Patsy Cline song called "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray". Patsy Cline was, apparently, an artist kd idolized (also happens to be my Mom's favourite singer coincidentally) and kd modelled herself a bit off of Patsy's singing although, in my uneducated opinion, kd took it up a notch. Carson loved her as you will see. In the video, kd and her band, The Reclines do two songs and the second one is "Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray" and kd lang absolutely nails it.
