Part one of a three part video series that we did on a 17 seater bus/truck through Fraser Experience Tours. The @safeguardcargonetsnz team were lucky enough to only have 8 people on the tour for the day. This tour is well worth doing with amazing sights, a lovely guide and lunch and morning tea provided.
The tour guide gave us some very good dingo info and explained to us about how to keep ourselves safe on Fraser. It is important to stay in big groups, keep children close, not run and appear tall and big to be dominant. Dingo sticks can also be used to deter unwanted dingo interaction and feeding and encouraging the dingos is not allowed.
This video includes the ferry departure from the main land at Hervey Bay, the ferry ride and arrival to Fraser Island. It also includes the trip down to 75 Mile Beach through rainforest and a visit to beautiful Lake MacKenzie. The water at Lake MacKenzie was fresh water and 'soft' water which made for an amazing swim and soft skin and hair afterwards. The tour guide recommended the swim and said you can mix the water and sand together to make an exfoliating paste. Lake McKenzie is a beautiful place to visit, white sand, beautiful clear water - a must do!
The next video, Part 2 of this tour is being uploaded shortly and has tour footage of 75 Mile Beach driving, dingos on the beach, Eli Creek, The Maheno Shipwreck and Fraser Island by air (video Part 2 and 3).
