I was born in Schofield Street in 1951 . It had been my grandparents house . Due to slum clearance we moved to Ward End in 1956 Thanks for making these images public
We moved to Nechells, in Birmingham around the end of August, 1962, things were difficult to start with, but eventually, we settled, and made some friends, It is lovely to see those pictures,
@@keithbrueton Yes, St. Matthews, as it happened my mother's paternal grandparents, were married at St Matthews, and they lived in Great Brook street during the 1880s

Some family connections for me here my Great Grandfather is on pub customer photo and my uncles Ronnie Higgins shop is on the here too My Grand parents Coal Merchants were in Nechells also.
dont have any pics but have a lot of fading memories, the older I get the more distant they become. Now in Australia for the last 50 yrs. I used to live in Cuckoo road, just round the corner of if you're interested.
