Thanks for showing this as an alternative to the K&N cleaner/recharger, which warns about the corrosiveness and flammability of using their product. As far as an alternative to using K&N's spray oil, I've read on another posting where an auto technician analyzed the oil and found that it's common automatic transmission fluid.
He knows nothing about soap or how it works. I wouldn't wash both filters in the same water. I would put a few drops of liquid soap and warm water into a spray bottle, spray both sides of each filter, wait 10 minutes, rinse and repeat 2 times, the rinse them thoroughly with a garden hose and let them dry.
Don't do what this guy's doing filters have an in and out if you don't get older dirt from the filter on the side that's going out you going to do a lot more damage to the engine you better have a good air compressor and you better get all the dirt out this guy's nuts for putting two air filters and one bucket loading both sides of the filter with dirt trust me don't do this
