All of Melanie's songs have such serious meanings and I don't think a lot of people notice, tons of her songs deal with eating disorders, pedophilia, drugs, abusive people and many other things
well they’re not gonna just sit them down and make them watch the whole movie lol. of course we all wish they would show them more, but their time doesn’t grow on trees. they have busy ass schedules
The girl said she felt like she can relate to song when the lyrics said "harsh words if you dont get a pic with me" ya'll better appreciate this idols they work really hard to become an idol .
And don't hate when they do something human.. Being a kpop idol is like taking away a human life. Just cause they're called idols doesn't mean they are, they are human just like the rest of us and should be able to do things we do. People should be more understanding towards idols, if we're not it's only gonna cause more suicides cause living an idol life is horrible for your mental health.. I'm really scared for them. They always get hated on like crazy for doing basic human things like being in a relationship, going out, getting drunk, etc..
Right it makes me sad that most of us really admire our artists but people tend to forget they are humans too and bringing Artists down just because they done plastic surgery or they are just plain rude doesn’t make sense to me I think we shouldn’t judge no one because we make mistakes too
The way they reacted to Show and Tell made me legit cry thinking how harsh the industry they’re in when they said they can relate. Hope the best for these girls
@@qwerty-tb4us the toxic fans and that things come for you, even if you are in a good company, the culture of the sasaengs in asia are just disturbing.
@@qwerty-tb4us yeah, well companies just do things based off of what the fans would like to see. so then they can make some $$$. you know what I'm saying?
Stalkers , Solo stans , You can’t date , over worked or under worked , body shamed , shamed of your looks have to be perfect in singing / rapping have to be a role model , have to be a model and have a kind , polite persona
They had tears in their eyes during mrs potato head, it breaks my heart, I hope they’re doing okay, they’re lovely girls, they shouldn’t have to feel that way about themselves..
I feel like they understand what Melanie's songs mean better than some of her fans, I saw several comments who made fun of her lyrics because they didn't make sense in their opinion. Great video, great artists, I wish them luck in their career!
They have debuted as lunarsolar actually in sept 2nd The blondy is eseo The brown is jian The purple is yuuri she is also japanese The red is Taeryeoung
especially with show and tell since the song is about being a celebrity in the music industry and how many so-called fans don't care about melanie as a person since they care only for the content they produce.
I hope theres a part two where they're reacting to orange juice, highschool sweethearts, strawberry shortcake, lunchbox friends, principal...actually just let them react to the whole k-12 album Edit: OMG This got so many likess AAAA
Literally just made a similar post lol. I really believe that the K-12 album would hit close to home since it’s things they gotta deal with in Kor. too
@@sayuri1003 All I got to say is that plastic surgery is a big business there, there's high school kids who say it's very normal. If you aren't beautiful face wise it's also hard to make it by, at least that's only some things actual Koreans have said. Just do your research on even RU-vid, beauty is everything.
Aesthetic Cat I know that plastic surgery is big there bru. I said just Korea because some Koreans may have different taste instead of their usual high standard beauty and Korea is very strict in the beauty stuff if I make sense
Aesthetic Cat imfao foreigners come to Korea to do plastic surgery cuz Korea has the most greatest plastic surgeons.. only some do plastic surgery in Korea not all Koreans do it
Their name is LUNARSOLAR! There’s an account on Twitter named ‘LUNARSOLAR_INTL’ where fans post updates and translations :) Please support the girls they debut soon Also they have RU-vid videos just search for the “JPLANET Entertainment” channel to watch them :)
Melanie Martínez simplemente es la mejor cantante que e conocido, toca temas que realmente son de importancia y lo expresa en sus videos y letras de cada canción, la amo ❤️✨
can we all just talk about how all four of them mentioned how show and tell probably will be how they find themselves in the celebrity part and stuff, like, that they can relate to it and all that because idk about y'all but i find that extremely sad and depressing.
these girls are LUNARSOLAR, an upcoming girl group under jplanet entertainment!!!! they'll be releasing their debut single, OH YA YA YA, on september 2nd! pink is taeryeong (im jeongmin) who participated on produce 101 and mixnine. she's the main dancer, and her birthday is december 27, 2000. purple is tokunaga yuuri, a former jpop idol. she's the maknae, and her birthday is may 16, 2001. blonde is eseo (noh hyeonjeong). she's the leader and main rapper. her birthday is march 4, 1996, and her best feature is her "killing smile". brunette is jian (kwon jieun), a former member of s.e.t and a contestant on the unit and i can see your voice. she's the main vocalist. her birthday is march 14, 2001.
The girl with the orange-red hair is so cute like mels peeling her face off while the parents melt and she’s just smiling lmaoo😭😭 i’m gonna have to stan

IKR she deserves so much more love in my opinion her music is better than Billie eyelasHes this is also coming from a crybaby from doll house and tbh Billie eyelaSH got hype from bad guy -.-
if anyone wants to know who they are, they're a girl group called *LUNARSOLAR* members: blonde hair: eseo brown hair: jian red hair: taeryeong purple hair: yuuri
thank you! are they good??? I’ve heard of them before n now im actually considering getting into them bc i haven’t started stanning any new groups since like 2017
I hate how most of these comments are about the single “She’s like billie” comment Like You know they probably know nothing about Melanie because this is literally their first reaction, and they have (obviously) watched billie before? Obviously if you watch something new you’re gonna compare it to something you’ve seen before! Even if that thing came out after the something new Pay more attention to the message mel was trying to get across and how it reached these girls! Stop focusing on the one comparison and ignoring the entire point
There’s a reasonable explanation on why Cry Babys act this way, as you can see Melanie Martinez’s video receives a whack of Melanie-Billie comparisons, from Official Audios, to Official Music Videos. Cry Babys are then tired of hearing Billie Eilish pop up in non-Billie video especially Melanie Martinez’s Videos themselves. The sad thing is we can’t blame anybody, Billie has sadly become a norm or somewhat perhaps a standard for other artists, like Beenee, Ashnikko, Sub Urban etc. So if you do see comments of those fans getting bothered by the Billie Eilish comparisons, just ignore them, daz it. Love ya’ll
Melanie sings about so important and serious topics in her very own way and i think thats so important, it is kinda scary and bizzare and shows how scary and serious these things are. The reason people are scared is because it is the truth. Stan Melanie for not romantizing such important and serious things.
Their understanding of Melanie Martinez's music video concepts and lyricism is very on point. Love that they complimented what they liked and what stood out to them most. I appreciate that they were all open-minded enough to see past the unconventional style that Melanie has, they just saw it as art. They analysed what they saw a lot better than regular American individuals, their reaction was impressive. Can't wait for their debut :)
i really love how the messages within melanies songs can translate across different languages and touch non english speaking audiences through her visuals and expressions, i think it just goes to show how much of a talented and unique storyteller she is
As a Melanie fan, I love seeing their reactions to her! I was also expecting their reactions to be weirded out, but most of their reactions were admiring her
these girls just debuted yesterday so PLEASE STAN LUNARSOLAR, they are rlly supportive with the lgbtq+ community, just angels and extremelly talented are also they song are a BOP please support lunarsolar
@@CheerUp2 it’s not a kpop term it’s an actual word used for different reasons as well, such as a webtoon artist putting out his/her first webtoon, is also debuting.
is OH YA YA YA their only song ? idk if spotify just doesn't have the rest, but they seem really sweet and i'm new to kpop and thought i'd look into them
@@jjminn95 oh lana was essential to me growing up lol. melanie and lana had similar styles but i guess people thought melanie was weird because she addressed topics that most singers didn't
@@brokenankles4862 i dont think i can support Lana after her statements about my favorite artists and her getting jealous of their success Honstly i never knew her, and i now i dont want to
I love how this shows people who dont usually see something like her being able to appreciate her and her talent even if they dont really like all of her style and stuff!!
luhv_faiii Melanie and Billie are completely different people most of melanie’s music vids are inspired by dolls and Billie’s music vids is inspired by a completely different thing they just have the uncomfortable and weird music vids that’s the only thing in common
@@lvlu4046 yes that's true but mel isnt just about dolls her songs are more about dark problems nobody talks about but I get where the doll thing came from as she was a doll in dollhouse and show and tell
Everyone over here getting offended that they said "she looks like Billie" as if they don't compare every male k-pop idol to BTS edit: i’m literally nowhere comparing Melanie and Billie. No need to be offended saying i’m comparing them because, like i said already, i’m not.
FatalFlowerGarden yeah I wish people would stop chalking up the original story to dRuGs. Like new adaptations can, whatever idc, but the original story was just supposed to be nonsensical and whimsical.
Melanie was my childhood. I have always loved creepy things and her old music videos always had a creepy thing going on. Ah the good old middle school years…
lol there was a little mistranslation. They actually said that she was like Billie... Like her vibe/concept. (I don't listen to either much btw) From what I see, both artists have what people (especially Korean people) might think of as strange/creepy. So they were talking about the vibe/concept
Are we all just going to skip past the "I feel the lyrics are like a story of ours" part? Like these girls aren't even debuted yet and they are going through that? Proof of the toxicity the K-pop industry relates to young aspiring artists. However, we as K-pop fans know this exists but normally overlook it so we can have the chance to see more groups like BTS and BLACK PINK pop out some day....this is sad man. I'm ashamed at even myself for this.
I never had a good self-esteem and I have no confidence at all, Mrs. potato head is one of melanie's songs that I really identify with! Sorry for my bad english
I showed this to my cousins, and they all love Melanie. When they said “she looks like Billie Eilish” they all got so offended and started talking trash and I literally said “Ay, shut up. You guys literally say that they all look the same and you can’t tell them apart, what’s so wrong with them saying she looks like Billie? They only said she looks like her, they didn’t say she looks like her like ‘wait is that Billie Eilish? I can’t tell them apart.’ No, unlike you guys who think all Asians look the same when usually they don’t.” :P
Hey guys this a LUNARSOLAR they debuted on september 2 with their first single "Oh Ya Ya Ya" so please go check them, they are four member vocal-based girl group. The members are: - blonde - Eseo; - brown - Jian; - purple - Yuuri; - redhead - Taeryeoung;
It's funny how they understand that Melanie is being treated likem a product but the k pop industry is just a big machine and the idols are products coming out of it.
they know firsthand. eseo (the blonde girl) is the only one who hasn't gone through the trainee process or a survival show or a failed debut before. this is jian (brunette)'s third chance, yuuri (purple)'s second chance, and taeryeong (pink)'s fifth chance at being an idol.
i remember watching this when it came out last year and ever since then, i’ve become a huge fan of them and lunarsolar! thank you for introducing them to me & im hoping for more comebacks and time spent well with our precious girls!!! ♡♡
“Is that a human version of a child” ...so who’s gunna tell her Edit: ok holy shii y’all I didnt think this would get so much likes😂💀 Tysm🙏🏼 and for the ppl wondering the famous quote is at around 11:09
i’m glad this channel showed them these songs specifically, because it shows them the harsh society that they will deal with in the future. hopefully they know that the industry is very toxic, and they should always love themselves and never be pressured into something they don’t want to do. :)
"She looks like Billie Eilish" me trying to hold my words because Melanie did it first : *gUEsS i BeTtER wAsH mY mOuTh oUT wiTh sOaP* [ edit: never expected the numbers tho XD. Tnx ]
@sparkly diamond I think it's just because Billie blew up so much, and lots of people don't actually dig deep into music and find what speaks to them, they just listen to what everyone else is.
sparkly diamond i dont see why people make it such a big deal about who started their career first ? people have done things like what theyve done lmao Melanie aint the first, same with lana etc
I like it. The person who picked these songs are brilliant. First one is for the other side of popularity. Second is for the things that you say can be used against you(media anyone). The dark side of the perception of beauty. Hmmm. Someone help me with Mad Hatter here.. Edit: Watching it again 9 months later. I realized the madhatter was viewed after potatohead to represent "no more pretense/this is me not exactly crazy like mad hatter but my real self which others might not want, just to intensify and and a back up message of potatohead👏👏.
From my perspective, mad hatter seems to be about how people who are viewed as different from being "normal" are always the people who are called crazy or told they need help. There are plenty of people who simply express themselves differently and that is why we have a lot of different ways to express ourselves now like music, painting, movies, etc. Hence the "all the best people are crazy" lyric she says as they were the people of the past and present who make changes to the future.
"shes like billie" i understand Billie is very popular, more than melanie, but Billie is like Melanie. Melanie came first and her songs are topics artists never touch, and that everyone relates to, with very deep meanings.
you got a point but I feel it's not their fault. They probably heard about Billie before Melanie or did reaction vids like this but with Billie first. Maybe it doesn't have to do with who is more popular in the girls eyes
i am sad that they didn't react to Strawberry Shortcake, there so many good songs and MVs that when they don't choose the ones i want i am dissapointed 😢 but the video was entertaining nonetheless.
