Take Me Home has an amazing performance and it's in the same style as Silver Light and Cyberpunk. Also, Dazzling Light, Mist, Horizon, Desire, and Precious are my top b-sides.
The Real is the song Ateez made for the Kingdom finale (for Stray Kids it was Wolf Gang). They were heavily mistreated by staff and executives during that show and it is known as quite a traumatizing period for both Ateez and Atiny. Hongjoong said that when they look at their career, they see it as "pre-Kingdom" and "post-Kingdom," it affected them that much. So the meaning of the song was to stay 'real' and true to themselves, do their own thing without changing to fit expectations, and most importantly to stay humble and kind. All members even sing in their own dialects/accents (Wooyoung's dialect comes quite strong which many Atiny liked). Mingi was in a hiatus back then so he didn't participate in Kingdom (that's why he's also absent in the Fireworks MV), so when they made an MV for the Real they made Mingi the protagonist.

So, The Real meaning: it is to stay humble and kind, no matter of your status or age. In their interview San explained “the real” was meant for “the real cooleness” and the song was meant to show the colors of Ateez but focuses on the kindness and humility. In addition, there are 3 groups in the school - the Historical Club (Seonghwa and Hongjoong), Baseball Club (San and Wooyoung) and Biker's Club (Yunho and Jongho), and then there is Mingi - the protagonist and the new kid, and there is Yeosang who is something of a deity or higher entity, or something. All of ATEEZ's videos have lyrics in English and they explain the song very well. Wake Up: you should really watch a live performance of this on youtube. There are a few of them from their concert in Seoul. They are leading the revolution and singing about fighting for rights, and stuff, and.. the choreo, oh my god... It has nothing to do with it?! 🙈👻❤
@@nicsandnacs Actually Cyberpunk and Wake up are twins in terms of performance (evil ones) -))) There is a lyric distribution video for Cyberpunk (no mv), but after that you should definitely watch the live performance on KBS World. If you decide to react to it, you should mask the video so you don't get blocked on YT.

@@nicsandnacs I hope so too because I totally agree, their voices need to be heard in the most crystalline way possible. As for the recommendations I highly encourage you to dedicate a full episode to the slower songs (and maybe some individual covers too, so that you can have a better taste of the voices of each member). My most recommended slower song is definitely Turbulence, which has a MV but PLEASE if you ever check that one out do a live version too (the best live version of Turbulence that you'll ever find is the It's Live band version, beautiful beyond words). I've been waiting for so long for you to check out the slower songs to have a better showcase of their amazing vocals. Earlier I talked about the individual covers too, well if Yunho impressed you during coachella you should definitely check out his solo cover, BEAUTIFUL. San and Jongho also released not too long ago a cover of Dear Name, a song originally by IU and man let me tell you, those two together are incredible and definitely you NEED to see San...well sing sing because that guy not only has the most incredible stage presence, but also one of the most beautiful and recognizable voices in the whole kpop industry

The Real is one of my personal favorite songs. The song is about remaining humble and kind no matter what happens. It uses traditional Korean instruments and the lyrics play off of several Korean proverbs. During the talking parts, they use their own regional dialects. They closed their shows with The Real on the last tour and every performance was different, but a complete party. The final dance circle (which is also traditional Korean in the version they did at Coachella) is often used to give spoilers to Atiny about new comebacks or things that are about to happen. The MV is roughly based on a Korean movie called Volcano High. There is a LOT of hidden meaning in the MV… enough where there are webpages detailing the hidden eggs. Some basics… -The book Mingi is reading is an Ethics book. -Each of the ‘school clubs’ symbolize different values. (Some written on the walls behind them in English) -The burning bat has ‘Passion’ written on it. -Hongjoong’s fan says Humility. -When it shows the magazine pan… the gesture they are all making with the finger under their nose symbolizes humility. -The book towards the end say something like Ethics… Revised Edition. -Yeosang’s character is a symbol of peace… hence the white birds (which you often see with his character in MVs such as Not Okay and Inception. That is explained in the Zero Fever Diary Film that came out with Inception).
wake up is one of my faves and then we all got whiplash when they revealed the choreo at their concert this year 😭 if you look for concert videos theres full performances of it out there and its definitely worth it!!! hongjoong slaying his rap, jongho the high notes and everyone is just amazing ALSO some of my fav slower bsides with emotional lyrics are not too late, mist and be with you

For slower/more ballad songs: turbulence (mv/live stage/band live), be with you, better (concert/live stage/lyric video) Not exactly ballad, but less tension than ateez's current songs: Take me home (concert stage, this one is a must, girl!), desire (concert, also a must to see), mist (concert/lyrics video), treasure + precious (concert, it's a must also bcs these 2 are twin songs, u'll see AND hear something interesting by watching the concert stage. FYI treasure is like the beginning song of their treasure album era, and precious is released at the last episode of treasure album era), utopia (live stage), thank u (band live), promise (band live), aurora (live stage/performance video), dancing like butterfly wings, celebrate. Honestly too many to list, bcs 80-90% of their songs are bops.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'm OBSESSED with Wake Up. I think you'll love the rest of the album too - Wake Up fights with Dune and Outlaw for my favourite track from that album and you'll love both. Plus the choreo for Outlaw is incredible, although we've only seen it once D: For slower songs with amazing lyrics, Turbulence (pre-release, has an MV), Be With You and Not Too Late. All impeccable. (also I've never had an issue with the audio on your videos!)

'paradigm' is one of the songs that is included in their japanese ep titled THE WORLD EP. 31:57 it was the intro music for their Coachella set which is why everyone is so sad they didn’t actually play it. They performed it ONCE at the Korea showcase before the album dropped and never again. Wake Up was my #1 song from that album, Outlaw the song is #2 for me

happy late birthday!! Paradigm Wooyoung is the reason why he is in my bias line now, i love that song so much. I liked Wake up when i first heard it but after seeing the choreo and hearing the instrumentals as their intro to coachella it's got me on leash😭 I feel like im hypnotized whenever i hear it now. Some of Ateez's slower songs include: Turbulence Mist Light Be With You Star 1117 Not Too Late (Turbulence, Mist and Be With You are absolutely gorgeous songs, i love them so much)
Also :- you should need to read the lyrics to Paradigm vs Wake Up. They're related, just like they are related musically. You also should dig up the live version of this from Seoul or Japan.
YES THE REAL!! this song is the song i genuinely have trouble listening to in the car because I get so hyped lol. ALSO YES YUNHO IS THE KING OF STABLE, he is so stable its almost scary. THEIR JAPANESE RELEASES ARE ALWAYS SO DAMN GOOD. paradigm and not okay are so good ugh. Dreamers is such a fun summer song too. HJ's rap in Wake Up is genuinely one of my favorite raps of his, he always brings something new and fresh to every song and its so good. also thank you for the wooyoung vocal appreciation, he's so underrated! He has such a sweet voice and a great range, you should listen to their B-side Mist to hear him really belt!!

Wake Up was my favorite song off this album. I am purposely trying not to watch the live version of this before going to the concert, but I’ve heard the staging is WILD. If you want to see it, look up a tour version live stage. I’m warning you, you probably don’t want to wear a sweatshirt while viewing and keep your fan close (based on friends’ comments).
Yeosang is my bias too and Hongjoong with Seonghwa are my wreckers^^ f you want some good bsides for example are: Mist, Promise, Thank you, take me home, still here ...etc etc^^

I love Wake Up - it's my favourite from ep 2 and definitely top 5 overall. I think (I may be wrong) that the translation for the Korean name is something like Hypnosis, and wooyoung's pre chorus made so much sense once I discovered that. "what would they do in the slow parts, the wooyoung parts?" well that choreography just flashed in my head, and I'm not ok again 😭

Personally I don’t think there is such a thing as “over the top” with ATTEZ. 😂 I feel like the more I listen, the more I watch, the more I learn about them as individual people the more unhinged and feral I become. With the comeback next week I’m planning on just being the most annoying person 😬

Seen many point you towards the concert live Wake Up and I’d just like to suggest that in the future, you don’t have to use lyric vids! Pretty much all of their songs except for like three all have official concert produced videos on yt that wont get bIocked! That way you can see who is singing and enjoy the performance with good audio quality
