You are correct, when KILL THIS LOVE came out the reviews were divided as the chorus has a slightly delayed drop which throws you off. BLACKPINK music is always a surprise, another example is WHISTLE, one of their debut songs (and their only music video to use green screen) In their Netflix documentary, Teddy Park, their writer/producer said "We almost didn't release WHISTLE as a debut song, most people at the company were against because it's super minimal and has this weird Country vibe." There was a recent ranking of the top 40 most beautiful faces in female Kpop, all 4 Blackpink members came in the top 5. Their sole producer was a young male gansta rap star, which explains their bad B*tch vibe in their songs.
