not gonna lie i REALLY wish lyre and nmixx get a chance to work together one day with their repertoire of songs having a splash of every thing and nmixx being a group built around the idea of "a splash of every thing all together" it would be a W and if nothing else stories of them in the studio would be fire

For nmixx I really don’t care if they change concepts or not. Unlike other groups, their whole concept is supposed to be mixing different genres together, so it’s more expected and normal for them to have concept changes for me

I feel like "Party O'Clock" is finally NMIXX itself! I really enjoyed their previous releases, but in a sense this song seems to fit so well to the member's personality and represents the group dynamic perfectly. A little girly, having fun together, a little dreamy, a little in love, a little sassy in the bridge... Btw, saw your name on the track list for Oh My Girls new album; I'm looking forward to it!

Jiwoo is a great rapper and performer 👏 As far as the music, I’m a huge nmixx fan. I like that they are doing different music, I just hope that as the move forward they don’t lose their “weirdness”. They are very silly girls and I think they have got to hang onto a bit of their debut sound to maintain their edge 🤞

10:25 I kinda get what you mean ~ that's just Lily's style with rifts and runs. She can do it the original way, like in her cover of "All I Want for Christmas Is You," but in songs like "Run for Roses" and "Party O'Clock," she has her own unique technique. So, while I understand what you're saying, this is just how Lily sings. She can do it the way you like, but she prefers to do it her way because that's her style. ♡~

I really liked a lot of points you made and agreed with a lot of them, I personally enjoy their pre-release, rollercoaster, more than this title track, but I still found it quite enjoyable. I am really hoping for their next comeback to return to their roots and have an experimental style change up. I feel it would be sad if the concept they went with so adamantly at the start was watered down or completely abandoned simply because of what i believe to be the amount of hate they got at the time. Whatever ends up happening I'm looking forward to supporting them and listening to the music they release because at the end of the day i think their talent is incredible and i love to support them with whatever they do. Appreciate the context behind the song! I learned a lot. Yes the girl you've noticed in both NMIXX reactions is Lily! She is the one who usually has soaring adlibs in their songs, really love how she was utilized in this song.

You know, when I first heard the song, I didn’t really like it. I found it boring. But now I literally listen to this song every day. She is so funny and wonderful. And this is great for live performances. That's why I love this group so much. She really is like a breath of fresh air to me. MIXX POP is the unique style of this group. Not only do they change beats all the time. It's also about different concepts and genres of music.

I’d love it if you gave nmixx a song like I got a boy by snsd with super drastic beat changes! I‘d love that. It would fit their mixxpop concept really well. As a huge fan, I prefer the darker concepts more.

I completely agree with your thoughts on the melody/production. The song is cute, don't get me wrong, but your point about the melody feeling indistinct is what I've been feeling about a LOT of JYP releases, including Itzy's recent "Bet on Me" song. To me, it's like the melody feels like a random collection of notes that don't necessarily sound pleasing together? They don't sound bad, but they aren't creating that "ear candy" feel that I usually look for in kpop songs. Compared to melodies from, say, SM entertainment, which consistently utilize interesting and/or captivating chord progressions that really pop out at you.

Yeah I can see what you mean. JYP's groups releases these recent years somehow don't sound satisfying, it left bitter taste like I know what it lacks but I don't have power to direct them. As ONCE I even hate Set Me Free. It sounds disjointed especially the rap. They need someone who can cohesively connect between part of songs.

I love your analysis, I wish div4 would consider working with you. Nmixx's vocal is highly underutilized, every song that they released either the ad-libs get overshadowed by the intrumentals or it has unpolished feel to it kind of incomplete and their way of harmonizing with eachother doesn't even make the cut. Frankie Day from The Hub directed their expergo acapella which Lily especially sounded so shrill like in every song she's always blasting her highnotes (belting) and the way they make the girls sing like the fuckass Half air style for Bae (she sounds awful) and the nasality for Haewon, Sullyoon, Jiwoo, and Kyujin. Don't get me started on the forced rap image🤦🏾‍♀️ JYPE is not really the kpop company that is suitable to produce music that highlights their idols vocals let alone maintain good vocalists. No wondr why 15& left (except for Studio J, Xdinary and Day6's vocals is used properly but not that much especially during the Strawberry cake) Please help NMIXX, their fans are way too delusional to think that they're doing fine just because of their followers and sales when in fact out of the big3+HYBE they're already considered a flop like a gg from a popular company keeps on getting their comebacks late and delayed already means that their division didn't plan it perfectly from the start and the way they decided to drop the mixxpop just to boost the girls popularity already tainted the girls image as an idol group, not to mention the fact that their division didn't even bother clearing up all the plagiarism acccusations against them during debut era. The girls are either gonna really fail or they will abandon the mixed genre for the sake of popularity and money.
