This car would be sick to own. I've driven an FRS with some mods and a tune but even then it needed more power. Adding a little sprinkle of Honda reliability into the mix is just chef's kiss. Also, loving all the SRT-4s in the shop. I have one in Electric Blue and everyone says the same thing to me: "You don't see these around anymore." Good to see a shop taking care of the ones that are still driving.
You really don't see those around anymore, but the ones I do see are usually kept like a museum piece. I personally know of 4 ppl who blew one up in HS/College around 2010 so I knew even then the supply was dwindling fast
I got my fingers crossed! That little thing is my "attainable dream" build, almost to the bolt. Man, it would be so cool to get that thing. My lease is up soon, too, so to be able to have that thing to zip around in to and from work for a bit would be the greatest ever. Best of luck if you entered!
Seems weird you didn't utilise the internal map sensor on the haltech 1500. There 3 bar stock and will read up to 26 or so psi. Also they have an input for a flex sensor so it could run on both fuels and adjust the tune to suit the ethanol content. Why not use the features the haltech has?
@@Underpantsniper Yeah but MAP sensors tend to read absolute pressure, so they read around 14.7 psi at atmospheric pressure and will read up to around 30 psi of boost.
I've been watching you guys for a long time, since you only had the hatch. I'm disabled but when I was able I loved working on my multiple Honda's. I now have a mazda and a old pick up. I absolutely love all your videos keep it up and cant wait for the race truck.
Yea, stock frs is fun. Got to take my boss's for a weekend and put it through the paces. I wished it had another hundred or 2 horses though so this would be great.
I think its awesome that your learning the tune world kyle!! Brent would be so proud!! Gonna order a shirt after the video for my chance at that bad boy and if I don't win at least I have a badass tshirt!!!
Just copped myself a T-shirt and a sticker from you guys, been following the channel since the hatch was unreliable and was just being wrenched on all the time so proud of you guys and how far you’ve come and would love to come and work with or for you guys one day but for now I’m stuck over in shoddy old England!!
Awesome! I have a similar setup in my colorado with a few more upgrades, but made 460rwhp on 60% E 17psi. K24 motor with k20 oil pump. Limiter at 7500rpm.
I'm so inspired by you guys at boostedboiz. Currently building my own hatch(Starlet) and swapping I a 1.8 2zz with boost in mind. hopefully one day il catch you when I start touring the world with my future project cars. Thanks for everything lads and keep up your awesome content. your friend from the UK
Hey Kyle, look at the Haltech 1500 ECU. There is a connector for vacuum line beside the wiring harness plugs. The ECU actually has a Map sensor (3 Bar) built into the ecu itself. Your Tuner definitely should’ve known that and whoever installed the ecu probably noticed it too
Guy drives a 7 sec car and stays cool as a cucumber, but a 320 HP FRS makes you yell through the gears?? C'mon kyle, no need to sell it. We all know its a nice ride!
should find one shirt of every shirt youve ever made for the channel and frame them and hang them in the shop some may need 2 for backside of the shirt but it would be soooooo cool to walk into the shop an see all the memories you made just in shirts the history made
I'm not big on wanting give away cars or non v8 cars , but I was just telling my wife I'd love this frs built by you and wyatt or the f150 garret got on his channel ,,, both super dope vehicles
I was hoping for more since i have the same combo, mine will be with a C4 or TH400 trans and 8.8 rear in a 2600lb car. Will hopefully be in the 400whp range for a daily driver on E85 only and 3bar map
It’s probably making closer to 400 in fourth gear. Make pulls in a couple different gears next time. Try third fourth and fifth. Fourth is usually the closest to a one to one ratio.
Damn shame that thing would be a pure track car here :/ That engine/frame combo sounds delightful. Also I had to check the FSR has 1.000 gear ratio at 5th was that on purpose?
Kyle is always like “there’s this one small part that will allow us to make WAY MORE POWER but we ain’t gonna put it on”…. Then when it doesn’t make as much power he says well darn, slaps knee.
Great vid, just a little fyi, gearboxes are rated for measured torque, not horsepower and this could be why some people are good at 600hp on some setups and not lasting on a torquey 300hp setup. Food for thought
Probably a stupid question but why not do a run in 4th if your still climbing hp and your hitting limit? Probably an obvious answer so I'd like to know anyway. I know Kyle explained it but I still think I'd have tried 4th
The reason you only put down 320 may be that the "E85" you bought wasn't actually 85% ethanol. Without checking the ethanol content of the fuel it could be anywhere between E50-E90.
When testing I didn't see a huge difference between e50 and e85, could push both way beyond the point where any extra ignition timing made zero difference.
