Bcz shaheen is all about fundamental with few to none gimmicks... If u want to win with this character then u need to rely on your fundamentals and poking... Thats why i truly love this character

It's not about it. It's about people giving zero fucks about him because he has no storyline. If he had one, more people would've cared (the same with Claudio).

Na it's because hes a HEAVY fundamental character. Also you have to know how to slide quickly. I'm picking him up now and hes very honest. The hopkick is -13 you shouldnt be worried about that if you're not mashing away

Honestly he’s probably never gonna be as big because the fact that he’s middle eastern or North African I forgot which one, but especially him wearing traditional clothing

Thank You! Yeah alot of people give Shaheen alot of hate because they see him as uninteresting or boring. I however, like his bare bones simplistic gameplay because I like his extreme focus on fundamentals like block punishment, whiff punishment and very simple mixups between mid and low moves. Out of all the newcomers to T7 I enjoy Shaheens playstyle the most. I really like Miguel, Lee and Law but the one thing they all lack is solid range on some key moves. I think Shaheen is great for beginners and for players of all levels who want to focus on a solid yet simple character. I hope to see him in T8 (perhaps with a few changes that add some more depth to SNK stance)! Personally, I find his animations and design to be really good. His db2,1 to me is one of the most satisfying moves in the game to land.

Ultra Fox yeah but Akuma can punish anything -10 with a combo so that’s a bad example. also every hopkick is unsafe too and the only character apart from the 2Ds that can actually launch it is Kazuya which requires ridiculous execution to get a 13f PEWGF.

I know I am a year late, but just wanted to add something on Shaheen's db2,1 . On paper its -11 yep but the pushback on block(as long as not used on wall) is almost always enough to get unpunished. On my ranks, I often see people either give up the punish or whiff their 10f punish, which often sets up for another db2,1 or a sweet sweet hopkick whiff punish.

@@Resolute.j okay so df1 is your basic poke. His lows are not that great tbh so you gotta risk it a little. I use his slide which is his best low. Mix that up with a while rising 3, 3 because that gets a lot of people after multiple lows. Setups i use: D3 to stealth step and ch1(people mash after the low.) On ch you get a free f2 3 Same applies for while rising ch1 B3 into ch 4(gets a lot of people who tend to mash) Combos are pretty simple so you can figure what suits you best Dont use his stealth step in battle. That stance is usually only for combos You can use it randomly to catch your opponents off guard as there is mixup potential. When you are in stealth, hold db to transition into full crouch. From that you can access your full crouch moves At around range 2, bait people with your hopkick it gets many people and you get a veryyy chunky combo. His forward 3+4 breaks floors and you can transition into his stance for mixups. Im not a shaheen main, im a lili main hes is my third main(my second being raven) if there are better shaheen players, please correct me (Edit) i forgot to add his df2 launcher. Its safe on block so thats there His df3 is your main mixup for d3 Its a homing ballerina spinning mid that screws in a combo Df4 is a long ranged mid poke Ff3 and while running 3 is a great launcher. This can be a bigggg mixup for your lows. Ff4 is your only powercrush which wall bounces and is a screw moves but isnt used in combos. D4 is a low poke that looks painful and when lands on grounded opponents it kinda keeps them on the ground, it doesnt slide away very far. Your orbital uf3 is great for low getup kicks and leads to a very damaging combo

I gave up on standing punishment all together with Miguel. It's ridiculous. So much fun as a character though.

My approach to the game isn't entirely analytical and it's hard to articualte sometimes so it could be a bit harder to make certain match up type stuff, but I do have some tutorial content coming in the near future
