K11 Swiss Carbine: DISAPPOINTING Stiff Action 

Just a quick update, I shot 20 rounds today at the range. It definitely 'loosened' up the action a bit. All and all-between the grease and shooting, I am very content!

k11 and k31 used to be lubricated with the yellow swiss army grease or the silvery/grey one and you can put on pretty much grease also pulling the bolt with more momentum helps and just cycling the bolt around till you shoot it for the first time is also very good

I think you're going to find this to be one of your best rifles. Very good precision guns

Do not use Grease, Go down to any auto parts store and buy a tube of dry graphite. It will slick your bolt right up and since it is a dry lubricate will not attract dirt like oil or grease will.

Those WWI/WWII rifles really like to be lubricated. Big difference after you coated it with grease! I also concur that breaking it in will help smooth out the action.

The G11/K11 cocks on opening so the initial tug on the bolt handle needs to be firm and abrupt, if you are handloading don't cycle the bolt back too fast because it will dent the mouth of the ejected case.

If you buy one of the surplus Swiss cleaning kits they come with the Swiss grease that was supposedly used on these. The kits are cheap. It is for a later semi auto rifle but supposedly the same grease. Im surprised you found one w/ such a rough action, I have one or two of each Swiss straight pull and they are all quite smooth. Does the bolt serial number match and did you make sure your locking lug recesses are nice and clean?

It is designed to be cycled from the shoulder. They run much easier that way. Also the Swiss used a grease to lubricate them.

The g11/k11s are not as smooth as the the k31

Really nice rifle. Have a look at Ballistol WaffenFett. It's not quite Swiss Automatenfett but its better than that thin white stuff.

You probably just have to shoot it a bit it'll sort of buff out has a bit more play and slides better
