Great video, clear and good communication, I find there's 2 types of k98 bayonets 1st one had a wooden handle, 2nd had the backalike plastic handle hope the information helps I ground dug my k98 bayonets in the ardennes, where the battle of the bulge took place near Belgium happy hunting 🎉🎉🎉
The material on the handle is called 'Bakelite'. The feel or texture you feel is unique to Bakelite and pattern you're referring to as tiger stripe Wes known as tortoise shell. It was a result of the manufacturing process and visible in its natural brown color, but when die is added like red in German butter dishes or black in canteen caps and other items that pattern isn't visible.
